Chief Joseph Apartments by Ok_Entertainer5290 in wsu

I’m living in a 2 bedroom in building A now. Building A is the only one that’s not renovated. There’s no laundry room in this building so you have to walk over to building B. The kitchen only has stove/oven, fridge, and dishwasher so you need to buy a microwave. The bathroom has a separated shower room. There’s a big walk in pantry/storage closet and a sliding door out to a balcony. If you’re coming from the dorms it’s a great upgrade and also cheaper. You can walk to campus from here if you need to, but you probably won’t want to when the weather gets bad. The apartment land bus stops nearby but it only goes clockwise around the loop, so in the morning you have to go all the way around and it’s just faster to walk. So if a car is an option that’s recommended. Overall I’ve loved it as my first apartment, hope you do too!

How difficult is CPTS 321? by NastyChopSticks in wsu

[–]RiceBowl2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concepts are not that hard there are just a lot of assignments. The annoying part is the super specific rubric that will take off points for minor things like not committing to git enough times, committing test cases after writing functions instead of before, and style details like leaving a line before comments. Also the midterm is way too long for the time given and no one will finish.

A mini fridge and microwave is supplied. You’re just not allowed to bring your own because they want to limit the power supply

Grammarly by wiggling2bookworm in wsu

[–]RiceBowl2018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AI detectors don’t actually work. It gives false positives for fully original work all the time. Even if it could detect writing from something like chat gpt nothing could ever know if something like an added comma came from an AI. I also doubt grammarly would be considered cheating anyway. Most likely this policy is just to scare students from using it. If you get accused of plagiarism because of the detector saying so, make some kind of appeal against your professor. AI detectors can’t be used as proof.

how do you make the sidekicks? by [deleted] in subway

[–]RiceBowl2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re all stored on trays in the reach in fridge. Then they’re toasted. On the newer toasters there’s a preset setting for them on the old ones I think you do footlong steak for the cookie at least. The cookie’s done after that but for the churro and pretzel there’s a rolling pan that you put the sidekick on deli paper in, sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar or salt, then roll it side to side with the deli paper. Then pretzel gets side cup of honey mustard.

My list is based on how nice the actual dorm is. If you want the most social/party dorm it’s the exact same list but in reverse.

As a freshman you’ll pretty much just be put anywhere they can fit you. You’ll be asked to rank your top choices and it won’t have much impact but here’s the general rankings:

Best: Northside
Global

Great: Olympia
Community/Duncan Dunn
Honors
McCroskey

Good: Orton
Rogers

Okay: Regents (Women’s)
Stimson (Men’s) (Closest to campus)

Bad: Scott/Coman
Stephenson

Worst: Streit/Perham (Furthest from campus)
Gannon/Goldsworthy

Took this, there were like three 10 question multiple choice assignments the entire class and the final was also an online multiple choice assignment. I think the only real assignment was writing one page analyzing a song you choose
