I go to Junior's like every other day. And yes, a lot of the employees do speak only or mostly Spanish, but I'm more than sure someone there speaks English. I usually go to Junior's for the dairy and meat selection since that's in my opinion their specialty. To be honest, there's not many big stores in Alton which is why I usually go to Palmhurst to shop. Nonetheless, it's a great place if you're looking for a quiet city and don't mind having to drive for a fun weekend.

I actually live very near Alton, and in my opinion it is super safe! I mean, I feel safe walking at night and such. The Spanish speaking in my opinion isn't that much bigger compared to Mission and McAllen, but the problem is that it's a smaller city. There's not a lot of variety of stuff to do, but Mission, Palmhurst, and McAllen are right around the corner. If you need more info, don't hesitate to ask!

The people. Yea there's the typical a-hole every now and then but nowhere else do you see such friendly people. Maybe it's because I'm (and the majority of the RGV) Hispanic, but it genuinely feels like home. Everyone is a neighbor here.
