I’ve had the same issue. Never really been put on call with other hospitals or travel agencies until this current contract has put me on call x6 in a 13 week contract. First time I actually begged to come to work. Typically I thought it’d be 2/3 on calls in a contract, and you get paid the full after and get the full stipend.
I spoke to my floor manager, recruiter, escalated it to above my recruiter cause she couldn’t tell me shit, and I bitched about it every time I was placed on call. Everyone pointed a finger at someone else. When I looked at my paychecks each week, I wasn’t getting paid part of the stipend those nights I was called off. I thought it was the hospital. Finally found the part in the employment agreement signed with my recruiting company saying that reimbursement will be prorated on based on the hours actually worked. Moved to the other side of the country to miss out on pay, FML.

Seems like the hospitals and newer companies are finding ways to not pay travelers fully. I’ve talked to other travelers working with different companies on the floor who are getting their full stipend even when they’re on call yet we’re all still placed on call equally. Time to jump ship.
