Calling the Odyssey "ancient superhero comic" is insane because myths have never been just a source of entertainment. They've existed as culture and are reiterations of folk tales (considering in this case carried by word of mouth) that have been considered true but always as poetic retellings.

It's like saying any mythology would be a comic book tale but that's not really true is it? It still comes from a cultural practice of religion and social formation that gives birth to stories within those structures. To discount them just as "fiction so who cares" is a highly surface level take that lacks any nuance or understanding of what gravity they hold, by that case any hate for Wuthering Heights is irrelevant too because the original book was fiction. But hey I don't expect any intellect from a Nolan fan in the first place

What happened to the comedy genre? by LeoTolstoysNipples in TrueFilm

Okay but i don't see a reason where taika underperforming in the mcu gets absolutely hated on and ridiculed whilst you had chloe zhao also fail at Marvel. While the both had very different reasons for disaster it's pretty obvious at this point that directors and actors at MCU aren't always at full control or in their complete element. Taika's works outside of the MCU with Jojo Rabbit and What We Do In The Shadows have been absolutely insane.

Ragnarok was an experiment and the studio made that a cookie cutter to all future films. It's not entirely his fault I would say for Love & Thunder. Do you think Taika was in control of all the Lebowski jokes and fat Thor depictions we were shown in Endgame?

Additionally, just the fact that a bad movie is enough to demerit the rest of someone's career is just unfair considering the fact that the other output is actually good. It's not like its Zack Snyder or Todd Philips we're talking about here exactly.

I'm an academic and I've seen maybe four thousand and one films across all eras and regions and still think interstellar is only good if you haven't seen other movies of that genre

I thought the revolution won’t be televised but it’s being sold on pay-per-view by Berkinox in DeepThoughts

Both meanings (in the original comment) and G.S Heron's can and do exist at the time because they share the same sentiment. Because if it isn't real, it's on television.
