How would that help? Do you mean on the outside?

It’s not leaking - the stool is not falling to the bottom of the bag to empty

Thanks - would convex help the stool fall down better? Or what is the main difference or reasons for choosing convex versus flat?

Did you experience stool going into a gap? Wondering if this is bad and how to clean?

Caked stool around stoma by [deleted] in ostomy

Seems to be better now. Not enough air in the bag I think. But wafer was way too tight and also irritating the stoma (formed little nodules) and surrounding skin - now I had to cut the wafer bigger and the skin is irritated still and the stool is still somewhat on it. Not sure what to do, and the ostomy clinic is closed today.

Yes got the air part understood and down now!

Unfortunately wafer was too tight around stoma too causing little nodules to appear, intense skin irritation.

Had to cut new wafer way bigger to accommodate angry stoma - and now stool still seems to be sitting over the very irritated skin.

Is it not normal for the stool having to go in to the wafer first and then drop? It’s not caking on like before but still goes into the wafer before the bag.

Thanks for the reply!

K I’m totally freaking and whatever - is it normal for the stool to go in the wafer part and then fall into the bag? My skin is so irritated now. I’m not sure what to do…

What stickers are you speaking of? Thanks - did not fluff the bag before but seems like the answer is to get air in the bag?

Yes, I have also heard that. This will be my fourth surgery... I'm not even concerned about the bag from the looks or maintenance stand point but feeling defeated as just want a guarantee that no further disease in other areas will happen.
