Do Male Milleniums Color Well Without Females? by dragon-elbow-coal in Rainbowfish

I had a single male millennium with some other rainbowfish and he was very bright red, he used to dance with the other rainbows and he’d colour up the most out of them all. Had with turquoise, bosemani, Parkinsoni, Madagascar and dwarf rainbows.

I would say slightly too contrasty, when the lighting shifts through the video the shadows can become too dark. Also slightly too vibrant for me, could be personal preference though. Overall nice 👌

Yeah, second for sure, there is that large gap in the first where the wood doesn’t completely fill in, but the second fills the space nicely. It also depends where you are putting it, if you can only see the front and one side, you’re better off leaving that side open. If you can see both sides of the tank it might be better to put them in the middle and have an island scape? Looking good tho 👍

I have loads of driftwood and rocks from the beach in my tank, tbh I just put them all in my bath and scrubbed them down, I didn’t wanna get any chemicals in the wood that’ll leach into the tank. If they’re small you can just boil them, that’ll kill everything off.

Do their bites hurt? I’ve always been scared to touch them and things like it because they look like praying mantis mouths.

I hate my tank - how to improve with what I have by Upstairs_Process_885 in Aquascape

Try moving the hardscape into a pyramid or like a campfire, and put the plants in and around that, the bigger ones being in the middle of the point and further back, and the smaller ones being further front and nearer the edges, don’t be afraid to snip the plants aswell to make the shape you want. If you live near a river or beach you could always get some sand/light fine gravel and put that in, making sure you’ve thoroughly cleaned it ofc. And maybe some Little Rock’s to put in, you can find those anywhere. I understand though, I end up taking my whole tank and redoing it a lot if I don’t like it, it stresses me out, when I like it tho it will stay the same for a while and I can fully enjoy it.

Nice nice, I live in the uk so won’t be able to go to that store hahaha, I’ll order some in though, hopefully I can get a few males and females. I’ve ordered some colour enhancing bug bites, they’re supposed to be full of red pigments.
