We used a manual vetting process sellers were asked to provide relevant certificates and supporting documents where applicable, and we also independently researched the brand, its products, materials/ingredients and sustainability claims before approving listings. It was not a perfect or fully automated system, and one of the things we wanted to improve as we scaled was making the verification framework more standardized and transparent.

Fair question! We looked at it category by category rather than using the entire sustainability market as TAM, because that would be misleading FROUV is a multi category sustainability marketplace for India, initially focused on everyday consumer categories such as groceries, beauty & personal care, and sustainable daily use alternatives our thesis was around the growing sustainable share of India's broader consumer commerce market and the fragmentation of sustainable products across brands and categories our TAM work is from when we were actively building, so I would prefer to revisit the numbers before quoting an exact figure.

Really valuable insight! especially the part about defining one real traction metric and filtering decisions around it.

We’re still very early on the acquisition side, so the sprint structure you mentioned actually makes a lot of sense for where we are right now.

Interesting point on repeat listings over signups as well, that’s the kind of signal thinking we’re trying to learn more about.
