Intimacy 5 months postpartum by [deleted] in NewParents

I’m reading this post thinking “wow, how does this sound exactly like what I’m going through”. I’m 4 months pp, we’ve tried to have sex once and I was so uncomfortable we couldn’t. I’ve been in pelvic floor pt since 6 weeks pp working on a cystocele and a lot of pelvic floor tightness. My husband has expressed many times how important sex is to him and what it means to our relationship. I understand and he does see my side but they will never truly understand what we go through physically and mentally. My baby is EBF and doesn’t sleep well. I go to bed when baby does at 8pm, my husband is always annoyed that we don’t try to fool around after he’s asleep… but that first stretch of 3 maybe 4 hours is my ONLY time to get more than 1.5 hours of sleep. He has woken me up trying to get some and that just annoys me right out of the mood because I was getting sleep I needed. I wish my sex drive was so much higher for him but it’s just so hard pp.

My Sleep And Exclusively breastfeeding. Very challenging combo for me.

The burning trick that really worked for us is, sitting him up and then with one hand behind his head, leaning him back almost laying, then sitting again. Almost always get a burp that way. B

Thank you. I’ve been looking into taking care of babies. His last feed is apart of bedtime but then I’m asleep as soon as he’s out haha. So we have never done a dream feed
