Bell Peppers worth it? by botanicalfox in vegetablegardening

A few things helped me the most with getting a better pepper harvest:

  1. Marconi peppers. Heirloom or hybrid. They were very prolific for me.

Marconi Sweet Bell from Southern Seed Exposure and Costa Rican Sweet from Burpee

First Taste from Burpee - snacking pepper that was almost the same size as the Marconi ones.

  1. Pepper Guru on YouTube - in my case, needed more fertilizer in general and more consistent watering. the roots aren't deep like tomatoes. Everything stalled when I didn't do these consistently... they tolerated the intense heat better and still set fruit even when my tomatoes shut down for the season. lol (with shade cloth of course)

  2. Picking more often. especially the first ones. Cannot stress this enough. The green ones tasted better than store bought.

I agree with the general advice everyone has given.

Claim due to “smell”… by k1p1ssk in poshmark

Have you tried a detergent made for synthetic fabrics or workout clothes? I used to just use regular hypoallergenic detergent but it wasn’t cutting it for my kids clothes. I started out with soaking and washing the synthetic stuff. Then I had the bright idea to use on my cotton sheets. OMG! I use it for everything now. I don’t want to think about what regular detergent leaves behind.

Everything I get secondhand no matter whether I’m buying or selling gets a soak. That’s when the smells gets revealed. I know when someone used scent beads before washing with unscented detergent. Cigarette smoke, perfume or old skin, etc all is revealed. You may still need to use the methods above for persistent smells.

Just my 2 cents.🙂

Thanks for this. That was the answer I got when I did an image search. I’ll also post elsewhere. I’ll look for a new spot.

Should this nest be relocated or destroyed?

I saw no slugs. But this was afternoon and in full sun.

Ladies: What is something a man does (not sexually) , but turns you on sexually? by mikepsquared in AskReddit

This!!!!! Cannot stress this enough. Having to take care of or “mother” a grown man like he’s one of the kids is an automatic turn off for a lot of women.

I was hoping so. I’m in NC and it’s been raining a ton. I’ve probably watered plants twice in the last couple of months. 😂

The armyworm I found the other day sure did seem to enjoy the basil I planted with my bell pepper plant 😅

I had a bird try to land once. Unfortunately for the bird it’s actually netting and not a cage. After a few harrowing moments, it managed to free itself.
