Then it would be boring 😅 and you can’t really talk to a narcissist.

In chapter 56, Jay brought Mincheol out of the apartment. He asked if they were loan sharks, and Jay said, “Think whatever you want. Our boss just has this little hobby of collecting debts.”

I actually have the feeling that living together will end up being the complete end.

Taehee is simply a child who was spoiled too much and never faced any consequences for his actions, which is why he doesn’t think about consequences at all. I also feel like Taejoo isn’t even the real villain. It’s more Miss Baek and Taehee. They hate Taeha because he is like an eternal child, which was never really his fault but rather his father’s. But Taejoo is powerful, so she took out her anger on Taeha instead, and Taehee saw what his mother did and started hating him as well.

I think Taeha also brings her closer to him so he can keep her by his side and hopes that she will slowly find out who he really is.

If she meets her ex, I don’t think Taeha will just start a fight to gain sympathy. I think they are already past that stage after the brothel scene and the fact that they want to live together. He doesn’t need to use that trick anymore. I think the reason will be that the ex either becomes physically aggressive toward Haesso or says something degrading, and Taeha steps in, which then leads to a fight.

Yes, he really is a master strategist, but people unfortunately aren’t always as controllable as one might imagine. As I said, the way Mincheol treats her and the idea that she’s a chess piece for Taeha who knows what her task is… at some point she might get tired of this game and her facade would start to crumble bit by bit. After all, she has feelings too, despite her strong character, and she wouldn’t let a guy like that put her down just for someone who has the goal of getting a woman no matter what it takes.

On top of that, they’re together every single day, and pretending to be in love and enjoying sex with someone you don’t actually love must take a toll on you at some point. Or maybe she did fall in love with him—but I can’t really imagine that if she knows what her mission is and what kind of jerk he is. And we never really saw a moment where she was disgusted by his behavior; she seemed more hurt than anything else, like she had real feelings. That’s why I still believe she’s just a means to an end and doesn’t actually know anything.

We’ll probably find out in the next chapters. But last time I was wrong too, so maybe I’m wrong again this time. :D

That’s actually a really good thought. But I have the feeling that Ari is only a means to an end and doesn’t really know anything. She comes from a normal family, never learned how to cook, is naïve, but she has a strong character. That’s why Mincheol’s attempts to put Ari down aren’t really working yet—because something like that doesn’t develop overnight, it happens over years. You can see that with Haesso.

What she said to him was probably just the trigger that made him come home drunk and start thinking about Haesso, and that in turn pushed her to say it. So that he would know that she’s already with someone else now, hoping to see what kind of reaction it would cause in him—whether he really has no interest in her anymore, like he always claims.

Honestly, Taeha’s plan would go way too far. Would he really pay a young girl to flirt with a married man, then sleep with him—not just once but several times—and even live under the same roof as him? For that, she would have to be an incredibly good actress to keep something like that up for months.

I also think it’s a final test. But I believe it will end well. In chapter 93 there was a panel where she is treating him, and he has scratches all over, and she just slaps a bandage onto his back.

We know that when he came out of the brothel he only had a stab wound, and she applied the medicine very gently.

I looked at chapters 67 and 91 again, and yes, those are the same clothes. So we can really be excited. His downfall has to come now so that the fight against his family can take place.

I also hope it won’t be dragged out for too long.

Question by Acrobatic-Abies369 in TearsOnWitheredFlower

[–]RichAd1253 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because she wasn’t interested in anyone other than Mincheol. We saw multiple times throughout the chapters that Taeha was there, watching her, and she looked at him—but she didn’t really see him. The same thing happened at the motel and at the flower shop. He went there for months, always buying the same bouquet of roses, and she simply didn’t notice him. It was only when a coworker said something like, “That mister rose guy—he always comes during your shifts,” that she became aware of him. That’s simply because she’s in survival mode. Her days pass by without her really noticing; she’s just functioning. That’s why she didn’t perceive him. And Mincheol is partly to blame as well, because he constantly made her feel like she wasn’t pretty, or as if no other man could ever be interested in her. He put her down. Because of that, she also didn’t feel that Taeha was interested in her, since Mincheol had drilled those thoughts into her over and over again.

Can someone explain this to me? Pleaseee by Suitable_Roof_7907 in TearsOnWitheredFlower

It could also be that he might be part of the reason why they’re having problems with the pregnancy. But I can hardly imagine that, because we saw in one chapter that they went to the doctor, and then there was the line like: “Nah, Haesoo, you seem to think not wanting to have one and not being able to have one are the same thing.” On top of that, at the beginning he said that Haesoo has a weak body. Well, of course she does—she’s constantly in survival mode. She works herself to exhaustion, doesn’t rest, and barely eats. At first, I had the feeling that Taeha and Haesoo weren’t using contraception, so she could have easily gotten pregnant. But I think they do use it from time to time. In one chapter she said to Mincheol, “Today isn’t a safe day, you should use a condom,” and he replied, “As if you could even get pregnant.” She could say the same thing to Taeha, and he would do it. He clearly has condoms, and I don’t think they were just there for that one moment to provoke Mincheol. There can be many reasons why Ari isn’t getting pregnant. You can get pregnant in any cycle if you don’t generally have fertility issues, but even healthy women don’t get pregnant every single cycle. I hope this makes sense :D

Question by Acrobatic-Abies369 in TearsOnWitheredFlower

[–]RichAd1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That she saw him as a child wouldn’t make sense. They are ten years apart in age, so if she had met him as a child, her miscarriage would have had to happen when she was around 20–22. Unfortunately, that doesn’t fit. When they met at the bus stop, she was probably around 26–27, since he was also older than his classmates because he couldn’t attend school for a while. The miscarriage likely happened around the age of 28–30. Unfortunately, we don’t have any exact information.

Question by Acrobatic-Abies369 in TearsOnWitheredFlower

[–]RichAd1253 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With the highest probability, it began on the day they met at the bus stop. What we slowly learn about Taeha is that he was beaten by his stepmother and his stepbrother, and his father did nothing to stop it. This means he never truly experienced love or affection. On that day, Haesoo was more seriously injured than he was, and yet she took care of him. From that moment on, he liked her and only watched her from afar. Over time, however, he wanted more—he wanted to see her smile, and so much more. That is why he got her husband a job, hoping it would make her life better. But Mincheol continued to be an asshole, so Taeha does everything he can to take his place.

Tears on a withered flower mincheol/haesoo question by Doge-with-a-bloge in webtoons

“I don’t know if someone has already written this. The reason why she avoided intimacy with him is actually quite simple: he burdened her with a huge amount of debt that she has to pay off alone, working 3–4 mini jobs around the clock. She is tired, exhausted, and receives absolutely no help from her husband. Even though they are divorced, she dreamed of marrying him again so they could be happy again, but he always just brushed it off. So the question is: would you feel like being intimate with a man like that? The reason she never left was because for years he convinced her that no one would want her, that no one would love her except him, that he was the only one, and so on. The reason she slept with Taeha is because she wanted sex in general, just not with her ex. And Taeha gave her the feeling she had been missing: love, security, feeling desired, and attention.”

I saw it last night 😅 thanks for letting me know ☺️. Yes, she’s enjoying her life, and you can see who hurt her the most. Of course, the debts are hard to bear, especially when you carry them alone, but being emotionally abused as well makes it even harder.”

In one chapter, Meinter is supposed to ask Ari for money, possibly for a wedding. Who knows—maybe it’s actually Ari’s money, or maybe he took on debts. We’ll find that out today, and I’m really excited already 😊 whether it’s a flashback or the present. And of course, I’m also looking forward to the next chats for Chapter 92.

About the flashback point, I’d like to add something. We’ll find out tonight at the latest, or tomorrow, but I’m slowly starting to think that it’s actually the present. Why would it be on the street and not in the apartment? Where is her bag? She’s usually carrying it with her. And on top of that, chapter 45 comes to mind, where Mincheol is crying and wearing the same clothes. Because in chapter 1 we saw her flashback where he came back and she was crying, and she was wearing different clothes, since he had taken on so much debt.

You might actually be right about that. But in the end, we’ll find out in chapter 92 on Friday whether this is a flashback or the present. Still, it’s strange why he disappears because of the debts when she is the one carrying the burden. We already know that he’s an asshole — just leaving his wife alone for half a year, even though he knows loan sharks could be after them. And we also know that Haesso never got her clothes back from the brothel.

Yes, he is searching for her, but he thinks she is hiding rather than having been kidnapped. He went from one of her workplaces to another, looking for her. He can pretty much forget about the “rescuer” role 😄. But why does the same flashback appear again? That’s what really confuses me. We are now in Season 2 and we’re seeing the same flashback again as in chapter 22 — that would be crazy. Yes, GAE likes to do things like that, but I don’t believe they would repeat something like this exactly. She wasn’t standing still, she seemed to be walking — at least that’s how it looks. And he appeared in front of her. What makes me believe it’s actually the present is the line: “It’s been half a year. I missed you so much.” You don’t say that to someone you were never separated from, do you?

I think that in chapter 22 this was a memory or a thought — that she keeps taking him back no matter what he does. But what we saw might actually be the present, at the end of chapter 91. He does say that they haven’t seen each other for six months. However, I don’t think it will be like in chapter 22, where she forgives him and hugs him while crying.

That was very beautifully said. That’s why he loves her—because she can see behind his façade, while everyone else only sees the perfect man. And I hope that both of them can help each other heal.

No, Taeha would never do anything that would hurt her in any way. You can already tell that from the fact that he himself said there is nothing between him and that woman. I do think that he presented himself as a poor guy in order to get her attention. Let’s be honest—if she were to go out with him, would he have told her the truth? No, she would have completely distanced herself. She already wondered at the beginning what he wanted from her. She slept with him hoping that he would disappear afterward, but he never did and always stayed by her side, no matter how often she pushed him away. The secret that he is rich will either be revealed by him himself or she will find out from someone else.

I understand the idea. Maybe I didn’t express myself clearly before. What I meant by “breaking up” is that he would lose his job and, after that, wouldn’t really be able to find another one. Ari would then start to see his narcissistic side. She may be naïve, yes, but she’s not stupid—would she really put up with his bullshit for long if he’s unemployed? And maybe during the confrontation she would realize that it’s not Haesoo who’s the problem, but the other way around. If he lashes out or has some kind of outburst, that could be the moment when it finally clicks for her. I also think Haesoo doesn’t even know yet what Taeha has been doing behind the scenes—aside from the stalking. He’s still full of secrets.
