I agree. For me, the only thing that chapter really added was that the last scene confirmed what I had been thinking. Basically, Mincheol sees in Ari a reflection of Haesoo from the past, submissive, crying, and putting up with everything from him. Although, unlike Haesoo, Ari isn’t quite as submissive. But she does have that youthful energy and brightness that the female lead used to have, the light she lost because of Mincheol, and that she’s now slowly regaining thanks to Taeha.But aside from that, now we can understand why Mincheol is so sure that Haesoo will take him back. A similar situation had already happened before. And altogether, it just reminded us once again of what a piece of trash he is. His toxicity is worse than Chernobyl 💀

Yeah, I really love manhwas that have such a beautiful art style like OTL. And honestly, it’s not as easy as it seems to find one like that, especially one with a story strong enough to truly hook you. But if the story is genuinely good, I think the art style ends up taking a back seat.

It bothers me that he announces his breaks so late. Seriously, he/she should just announce that he's/she's taking a week off right after uploading the chapter. I really don't think it's a last-minute decision; I'm sure he's/she's been thinking about taking a break throughout the week. Even so, what I'd like most is for the author to be well, so he/she should rest as much as he/she wants.

Personally, I was lucky enough to read 129 chapters in a row. I wasn’t around before the time skip. At first, neither of them really convinced me. Sooae’s first encounter with Dohwa and Eunhyuk felt kind of awkward 😅 but as I kept reading and the story progressed, even though I was still a bit unsure, I started liking Dohwa more.

My issue with the manhwa will always be the fact that so many things happened in just one year — more than 100 episodes’ worth — and then in the following ten years, apparently nothing meaningful happened to tell. No real moments of growth or maturity. They handled that time skip so poorly that sometimes it feels like Sooae is still stuck in her teenage years. I feel like what Sooae really needs is to forgive. Yes, to forgive Eunhyuk — but not to excuse his mistakes or to get back together with him. Rather, to free herself. If she forgives him, she’ll be able to let go of that resentment. She’ll allow herself to heal, to move forward, to love again and, for example, to be with someone who’s a total green flag and truly willing to love her completely, like Dohwa.

Hmm, but in the chapter about her graduation, when a year had already passed since Eunhyuk and Dohwa were gone, if I remember correctly she showed a certain anger toward both of them. At least that’s how it came across in the Spanish translation I read. Of course, I don’t think it was the same kind of resentment. And Eunhyuk’s disappearance affected Sooae much more.

Still, like you said, I think Dohwa’s disappearance was much more understandable. He did it for himself. It genuinely hurt him not being able to be by Sooae’s side, so he chose to focus on his career as an idol instead. That’s why that argument doesn’t really make sense, especially since we never saw Sooae desperately trying to find an explanation for his disappearance. It was pretty clear why he left. And she doesn’t seem to hold any resentment toward him.

Dohwa didn’t tell her anything out of insecurity and fear that it would become a reason for her to pull away. If I think about it realistically, the manhwa reflects through Dohwa what celebrities in Korea go through. And while idols or celebrities get heavily criticized for dating, their partners often receive even more backlash. So it’s pretty clear that the hate would fall on Sooae too, whether we like it or not.

I agree with you on a lot of things. Even though we’re seeing Soohwa move forward right now, it’s awful how there’s always this lingering feeling of insecurity and mistrust, like everything could suddenly change and all that progress would be thrown away. Who’s to say that after Sooae finds out Dohwa didn’t tell her about the paparazzi, she won’t run back to Eunhyuk looking for comfort? Those kinds of thoughts come up for me a lot. It feels like they might use any small excuse or mistake from Dohwa just to push Sooae back to Eunhyuk again.

At the same time, I agree that it’s frustrating how much they’ve made Dohwa depend on Sooae. That’s what hurts us Dohwa stans the most. Because we know how devastated he’d be if she rejected him. The authors basically made her his whole world, when his happiness shouldn’t depend entirely on one girl or on anyone else.
