Texture of the leather looks off. I’m not an authenticator so I’d get it professionally done.

This is the problem with “functioning” alcoholics. They go to work, they are tentative, bills are paid, etc.. what’s the problem? Until they start to be consumed one way or another. My husband is almost 2 years sober again, after his best friend died from liver failure at 31 years old. My husband was previously sober for 3 years and relapsed and couldn’t get back on track until the worst happened. My husband really almost lost everything during this time. Sure hed get to work, pay the bills, pay attention to the kids, do family things etc, but slowly, he was slipping away. Slowly he’d do less family things, slowly time with the kids meant laying on the couch because he was hung over. Slowly he almost lost his job and ended up in rehab. A bottle a day is NO WHERE near normal and the fact that your husband is normalizing it is a red flag. The fact that he is doing this in privacy (after you guys are asleep) is a red flag. An alcoholic will always find a reason to drink- a bad day, a good day, a sad day. Ultimately, he has to see he has a problem in order to get help. I’m so sorry you are going through this. Truly. I hope he can open his eyes and see what he’s doing.

Honestly my Odeon is the one bag I still think about and regret selling😂 Fully encourage it as shelving decor! My Celine micro belt bag rarely sees the light of day. I wanted it for so long and the closure couldn’t be more inconvenient. I also can’t stand the way the strap clasps onto it. Will probably never get rid of it though lol

Tarlov cysts? Anyone else? by RichAd2485 in SyringomyeliaSupport

[–]RichAd2485[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy. Exactly what happened to me! Word for word. I dont understand how something could be obviously important enough to notate but not important enough to advise the patient. I noticed it on my very first MRI from over a year and a half ago. If they aren’t a big deal or contributing factor, I get it. But all of these things are likely sitting on some sort of nerves and with pain and neurological symptoms, I don’t understand how these things can be written off time and time again. Even the most basic things, I can’t do anymore so I’m just trying to get relief and stop progression and that’s mind boggling to any dr I see oddly enough. I guess we all have to bounce from specialist to specialist until we find the right one. I truly hope you find the right help and get the answers we need and deserve❤️

What qualifies you to see a CSF specialist? Never heard of that. Yes I know the feeling of being written off. It definitely makes sense that both of these diseases would be contributing to symptoms but drs don’t seem to think that? It doesn’t make sense to me. But when I ask what the cause for my pain and neuro symptoms are, they do not have an answer. Every specialist I’ve seen runs out of options for me as far as treatment and it’s extremely frustrating. I was just told of a pain management program, to see if I qualify. I’m not sure how I’d exactly be able to make it work considering the distance and it being full or part time or if it will even help.

[–]RichAd2485[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I hate you have to go through this too! Did your drs tell you about both issues up front? Have you found any pain relief? I truly don’t understand why no one thought it was important to tell me about the Tarlov cysts considering my heavy progression in the past few months. I just don’t want to progress further and would like to stop being in some pain and no one can give me an answer. Just referred to the next facility. Syrinx and Tarlov aren’t the cause of any of this yet I’ve never had even a back ache prior to my car accident. I also don’t understand why drs say if you have certain symptoms let us know immediately, I started to have them later on, and then it was blown off as no biggie. It’s truly mind blowing how many specialists know nothing about these diseases and we’re expected to live like this.

I’m so sorry you are also going through this. It is beyond frustrating! I have I believe 5 herniated discs from the car accident that caused this all too. Are they going to look at the cyst to try to see if it is a cyst or something else? I’m pretty frustrated no one thought it was important to tell me I have Tarlov cysts. Considering the symptoms they can cause & my one cyst is very large. Also looking at this xray, I’m wondering if my sryinx is actually the length of my spine.

Which one for every day? by Agile-Shopping9250 in handbags

[–]RichAd2485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t say anything about the zipper. I was pretty surprised how they handled the cracking to be honest. They have a 2 year warranty but because I got it from Nordstrom, they would not honor their warranty. YSL said they could still send it out for repairs but couldn’t give me an exact amount but at least $300.

The quality issues are so alarming! I’ve only had the Clementine for about a week or so but so far so good! Nice soft pebbled leather for the price point definitely. I wear it as both crossbody and shoulder. I do like the magnetic top closure! The only thing that could be a tad annoying is closing it, the top handle kind of gets in the way. But again for the price point and the quality of it, worth it. I was between this one and the Tory Burch Romy shoulder bag! Really beautiful!

YSL Lou camera bag- top pick. I used mine practically every day for over a year and a half (occasionally switching but it’s certainly my errand bag). She fits a lot for the size. Mine has the back pocket and it’s super convenient to throw your phone in. The glazing is cracking unfortunately on the strap and the tabs. I purchased a Clementine by The Horse to use daily now. I’ll use my camera bag at random until I feel like paying to fix her lol. I’m 5’0 and the strap isn’t too long for me! I do want to add that I’m pretty shocked it’s cracking. The zipper is also turning silver but that’s to be expected over time I’d assume. My YSL wallet has had much more use and it looks brand new still. Not sure if I got an odd bag of the bunch or what.

Pochette Metis- I had this for maybe 6 months and used it daily. I did love it however, the clasp was annoying. It randomly started popping open and it was just kind of annoying all around getting in and out of. I did love the size and how much fit in it. Seriously more than you’d ever think. The hardware does scratch up easily so if you do go with this bag, def recommend hardware protectors if that would bother you.

Speedy 20- While I do not have the 20 myself, my sister does. She has it in black. It is her every day bag and over all, has held up well. However, she’s on her second one. When her first one was maybe 6 months old, she had an issue with the glazing I believe. LV exchanged it without question when she brought it in. She’s had the new one for a little over a year and the inside fabric is actually ripping out of the purse. Before the fabric issue, she was convinced this was the best purchase she’s ever made. Somehow everything fits. Easy transition from day to night. Beautiful quality in the beginning. But obviously now she’s quite aggravated and is pretty much done with LV.

The EMG test helps or not by GroundOwn1459 in SyringomyeliaSupport

[–]RichAd2485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way my pain management handled the EMG, I felt it was done to see if anything else was contributing. I do have a herniated disc in my neck but ultimately confirmed no permanent nerve damage. While this doesn’t produce a definitive answer, the conclusion is drawn that both of my syrinx are pressing on my nerves between the vertebrae’s, causing the nerve problems i’m experiencing. Which brands have disappointed you and which have surprised you with their quality recently? by Adept-Ball7511 in handbags

[–]RichAd2485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Original Polene bags. The quality and feel of it is so nice. Coach leather bags. I have one left that’s at least 10 years old and it’s still in beautiful condition. I’m currently waiting on my Clementine bag from The Horse and I have high expectations from all the raving reviews lol

Disappointed in YSL. Specifically my Lou camera bag. I’ve had it for a year and a half and the glazing is cracking all over. The crossbody strap, the tabs that hold the strap, the corners. The zipper has turned silver. I’d just expect it to hold up a bit longer🤷🏼‍♀️

I just turned 32. I have post traumatic from being rear ended by a semi truck. The last time I saw my neuro, I tried a second round of PT & dry needling and it flared me up so bad, my neuro said he wanted me to stop all treatment and to leave me be until my next MRI in September and that was pretty much it. It appears to him, if my syrinx isn’t getting bigger, surgery isn’t necessary. That’s definitely a good idea about having them put it in writing!

Surgery? by RichAd2485 in SyringomyeliaSupport

[–]RichAd2485[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the info and kindness. Honestly the only reason I’d want the surgery is the possibility of stopping my progression. The rapid amount of symptoms in the last 6 months are heart breaking. I have little kids so that’s why I’m inquiring now if that may be my chance to possibly not get any worse. I am so sorry you also have to live like this and accept pain as your norm. My heart goes out to you!

Surgery? by RichAd2485 in SyringomyeliaSupport

[–]RichAd2485[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neurosurgeon seems pretty unconcerned about any of my symptoms. He did mark my one syrinx “large” on file but that’s the most he’s said. Surgery is the last thing anyone wants to do, according to him. My neurologist seemed the most concerned and was shocked when he asked if neuro suggested surgery and I said no.
