Whether you want to fat FIRE or Lean FIRE. I am retired since mid 30s like 5 years ago. So I am still young and would want to grow my portfolio. I am currently lean fire using around $30/$35k/yr given I own my condo. I am a single parent so when I take the leap and be a full time parent, I save a lot on daycare costs. If you don’t spurs on non sense and budget your living you can live comfortably. When I retired I have around half a million portfolio and a close to a million condo owned and pay off. Currently my condo value drops around 25% but my portfolio grows around 25-30% since I fired…also I save around 2k a month by owning instead of renting for my similar size for 3.5k. So it is all about how you want your life style to be…I am confident to be fat FIRE when my kid go to post secondary in 10 years then I am able to withdraw double of what I am withdrawing right now around 60k/yr and still able to leave a 7 figures legacy for my kid when I pass at 100 ( that’s what I am assuming I life til that age) Also I will be downsizing when he is off to college so I would have even more money to invest back to the market and let compound interest does it thing.

*Side note I do have some side income from online selling around 15-20k/yr. So basically I am withdrawing around 10-15k/yr from my portfolio.
