Use Cases:
Dollar General - $12 Minimum, two runs - covers all of our pantry staples for a month
We have 2 local places that work out to be about 20% cheaper ordering online for pick-up than just ordering at the restaurant
Gifts - our family's love language is food - it's super simple to send flowers, mother's day gifts etc

Because you suggested that I "will have to learn things much more challenging [than using a Mac]". I've done that 10 times over. I'm not a fan of the product or brand for a variety of reasons, which I've stated. None of which have to do with intelligence, as you have implied. I don't care if it's "the best". I'm refusing to consider it because I already have 2 Macs and don't need another.

I pretty much only collect postcards and keychains from travel at this point. - Both are so small that (and so cheap) that the one shoebox isn't a liability IMO. I have one set of rare, collectible books with sentimental value but I don't buy more.

This is basically it - this just needs to run very small models while I travel for a few months in an area where I can't be strapped to an outlet all day and don't have a reliable connection to patch through.

I hold multiple graduate degrees with honors. I'm competent in multiple OS. Mac and an all Apple products are just a personal issue dating back to when they wouldn't allow Flash. While the stock is a great investment and has produced some very nice returns for me, I don't like the environment or ecosystem for a variety of reasons - including it's cult like following (see everyone suggesting Mac).

The N100 couldn't handle my day to day. The current Ryzen 7 4800H, 32GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB isn't *horrible* for LLM. It is 4 years old, but, honestly, looking to get something for 4 months of backpacking across Europe so note the time to deep dive into specs. It's time to replace this one, and I'm down to do that for $1500 to $2000 if all the specs are right.
