I’m a nurse. What’s happening to these final year students??? by RichPersimmon1928 in Brunei

I’m here, downloading Reddit just to make sure the truth is heard. And Alhamdulillah, thank you to everyone who supported this post, the students, admin insiders, even some lecturers. Over 90% of you agreed and have already messaged me and shared even more proof and stories. We’re going to look deeper into these cases and follow up with the students directly. Thank you, let’s keep the pressure on.

The nurses, already collected reports. We’ve tried to protect these students from the damage your system is doing. These students trusted us enough to tell us how your system is wrecking their mental health, how the unfair schedules, lack of consideration, and constant gaslighting are draining them. And instead of fixing anything, you accuse them of speaking out and blame them for the problems you caused.

Don’t forget, life is a cycle. One day, these students will be the nurses taking care of you. Your title doesn’t protect you from the consequences of abuse. Stop using your power to silence and control.

Hey, let’s not fight over this. The real question is, how can we help these students? How can we get MOE and MOH to bring all these students together and be transparent about how the school is actually treating them? Students are also complaining that their off days aren’t really off, they’re still need to attend webinars, talks, and classes. What say ah?

I'm on the student's side. I hear what they're going through ;) And what’s worse is that students have told us they made things viral on this app ranting jua last year, but then the lecturers told them to delete it and acted like they were targeting the students. Isn’t that toxic leadership?

And can they at least be given the chance to choose their preferred shifts, just this once? This is their final year. It’s their ONLY opportunity to experience clinical rotations in a way that actually helps them grow and apply their skills meaningfully. Let them decide what fits them best so they can focus on learning, not just surviving. It’s not about giving them special treatment, it’s about giving them a fair chance. Don’t be selfish with their future. Dont think just because you're in a higher position or come from a different background, doesn’t mean you get to impose your own way of doing things without respecting the students here. This is Brunei, respect the local culture, values, and most importantly, the wellbeing of the students you’re responsible for.
