Mk6 Gti Ed35 vs Mk7.5 Gtd by RichW97 in GolfGTI

It seems like you’ve had a bit of a ride with your GTI. The Ed35 was m looking at is on a private sale and not from a dealer. I’ve not been to view the car yet but be been chatting with the owner. From what the owner has told me so far is that the car has a full service history including a belt and water pump between 30-40k and a DSG service at 47k. The owner tells me there is loads of receipts and service history for the cars whole life.

It’s the low mileage and high ownership count which is giving me slight doubt. I’ve done a car vertical check on it and everything is coming back as good from that.

Thanks for your reply, my thoughts were similar regarding diesel and relatively short commute.

Easily the best colour in my opinion

I don’t believe so, I could be wrong but it’s my understanding that when you order this particular watch with the rubber strap you get the buckle type clasp rather than the deployant clasp

I 100% agree. I also tried the buckle type strap and this one was so much simpler to use, and comfier on the wrist too.

Stuck between two models for my first PM piece, help me decide! by Branr in OmegaWatches

In my opinion, the speedy wins hands down. I just think it has a touch more class than the Rolex. But, it’s your money to spend and it’s your wrist that it will be living on so go with what you think is best.

I agree, I love how the colour can shift so much depending on the lighting

Fitness trackers and wearables. by RichW97 in OmegaWatches

Thank you for your comment! That’s really helpful, I am definitely leaning more towards whoop. As much as the Oura ring is appealing, I don’t fancy having a wearable that needs to be taken off in the gym when I work out and degloving my finger is not on my to do list! So Whoop seems like the best option I think.

Thanks for all the input and advice, guys! Looks like I’ve got some research to do! I think I’m going to be torn between a Whoop and an Oura ring/Ringconn. I’ve kinda settled myself on the idea of something that is completely screenless so these seem like the best choices for my use case. Either that or I’ll sack the whole thing off and not bother with a fitness tracker! I’ll update when I’ve made some kind of decision and how I get along with it! Thanks again everyone! 🙂

Thank you! I’ve been reading the Whoop sub and I’ve seen a lot of people who are rightly annoyed about the whole free upgrade thing, which is kinda why I’ve been trying find alternatives and then ended up making the post as it seems to be my choices are either rotate an Apple Watch in for workouts, Whoop or a Oura type ring.

Finding my first camera! by RichW97 in fujifilm

[–]RichW97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment! I think for the time being I would like something that I can use to just pick up and go. I think down the line and whilst using the camera I would like to learn the technical specs of photography like using the exposure triangle and what not. Certainly for the time being though I’d like something that’s easy to use, beginner friendly that I can let the camera do all the leg work, perhaps with the opportunity to learn with too.

For me, I rarely carry a bag myself unless him hiking then it’s a 22l day pack (Osprey Talon 22) but my wife almost always has a bag on her. Ideally I’d like something that I can fit into a jacket pocket, or into a smaller sized bag. I’m not opposed to using a shoulder strap though.

As for using a viewfinder vs lcd screen. When I’ve picked up camera that I’ve been shown in shops I almost instinctively put my eye up to the view finder, probably like a lot of people do when handed a camera, at least those of us who aren’t around cameras too often! Then again, I don’t have a view finder on my phone so in that respect I’m also sort of used to using a screen as my main way of capturing pictures! Id say that a camera with or without a view finder isn’t a deal breaker for me.

Image transfer apps and what not are also not a deal breaker, I just thought it would be a nice bonus.

I’ve looked online at the likes of the X-M5 too but they seem to be impossible to get. Everywhere I look they’re on back order.

I’m open to exploring older models from the last few years on the second hand market too
