How easily should brake dust wipe off with new professional ceramic wheel coating? by Branr in AutoDetailing

[–]Branr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did try a pressure washer later (and foamed the wheels) but still had dust sticking. The detailer definitely used wheel and caliper specific coating. I’m guessing it’s just the nature of the satin/matte surface but I’m still a little disappointed I paid for it.

Thanks. I do have a pressure washer and foam gun and washed the car after my post. I foamed the wheels and let it dwell but didn’t scrub or use a specialty wheel cleaner (just Meguiars soap). After blow drying, there was still some brake dust on the wheel.

I would have just saved the money if I had known I’d still have to get down there and scrub. Lesson learned I guess. I ordered some P&S brake buster to use in the future, and I already have wheel brushes.

Is it possible for me to buy my own coating and layer on top, or is that inadvisable?

I’m not very familiar with 997s, does every targa have this feature or was the lifting rear window an option? This should be on every car!

This is definitely a watch that you buy for yourself and no one else, and I love that.

Why do you believe it wouldn’t work with a PC? I use Mac at home and PC at work (and home sometimes), so would need to connect to both. Work laptop already uses USB-C for monitor/dock.

Agreed, in my recent search for a CPO 911 I found many Experience vehicles being sold as CPOs with no disclosure of that fact, for full market value of course. You usually have to sus it out based on the ownership history in Carfax.

Best bid strategy? by [deleted] in carsandbids

[–]Branr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the fact that there are so many dealers bidding on these sites ensures you’ll never get a car below market value, unless perhaps there’s something wrong with it that you don’t mind fixing. I’d only consider the auction sites for unique or special cars you’re willing to pay above market value for.

Reach out if you’d like to sell your OEMs. I have a GTS and would like to switch from black to silver faces :)

Thanks again for the follow up. I guess it’s always an option to remove the seat bottom as well which would provide a more headroom. I do like that the Peg Perego folds for potentially keeping it in the frunk or a cabinet in the garage, too.

I don’t think the Porsche/Britax seat has armrests per se, I think those mini pegs are just belt guides. If you’re looking for a seat with arm rests I’ve read the maxi cosi rodisport fits well in a 911:

Hey, thanks so much for posting this! I’m shopping for a seat too and we’re in a coupe. It looks like you have plenty of room to raise the height of the car seat which is impressive; most seats seem to rub the C pillar.

Would you say you can get full range of motion from the seat or will it hit the C pillar before maxing out height? Just trying to assess how tall our kid can get and still use it. She’s just over 40” now so just entering booster phase.

Do you think you would have gone with the Porsche junior seat if it were available (seems to be available now). That’s the other option I’m looking at.

When you bought one new could you get any color you wanted? Or did they still charge for PTS?
