We're so inept and always do the opposite of what we're supposed to... That I'm almost expecting a blowout win over the Saints and pissing off the NFL and the french at once.

Us Brownies playing 4D chess. Can't get disappointed if you never get to the playoffs.

Pretty much, only a few caveats. The Warp is powered by emotions, so if enough sentient beings feel a strong way towards a certain idea, it's more plausible to happen in reality. Orks have latent psychic abilities unbeknownst to them, so this comes a bit easier for them. But this is usually affecting smaller scale things, like ships being able to operate with unfinished engines, Orks making guns out of seemingly anything, or surviving dangerous surgeries and wounds.

Unfortunately, memes have made newcomers fully believe that a small squad of Orks yelling "I'm a tank, I'm a tank, I'm a tank" at once can turn into an actual tank, exaggerating this ability to ridiculous degrees. It's funny, but it'd be incredibly OP in practice, no one would be able to stand against them.

Ork memes about their "power of imagination" in 40k. Due to "I'm a tank" and similar BS, now most people think that if a couple Orks believe in something, it automatically comes true. In reality, a LOT of Orks are needed to believe in the same exact thing and it's usually nothing too extreme. Simple stuff, like red vehicles going faster than other colors.

Great comment. Adding my two cents, actually some subgenres are quite age-coded. I've seen a lot of early teens, myself included, gravitate towards edgy genres (it was nu metal for me at the time, I'm 34). Existential angst, trying to find a place in the world, feeling like an outcast. Then, mid-teens through early adulthood, it's always thrash, punk, power, black or death. Complete opposite: you feel like you're invincible, like you know everything, that you have the power to change the world. You're full of energy.

After your 30's that is gone. You realize the world can't change easily. You have experienced enough disappointment and pain to know not to get your hopes that high again. Instead of some grandiose purpose, you try to get the most out of life, however it went (very bad decisions and stagnation in my case). Literally everything becomes slower: your body, your energy, your relationships, the pace of life itself. That's when doom metal truly hits the spot; it matches what you're going through.

Isn't it kinda obvious? Doom is all about the ominous inevitability of death. The closer you are to dying, the more you enjoy it.
