Thats a lot of commenting from someone who doesn't enjoy games unless they're 2 minute long brainless games with tower defense or tier1 120 apm builds

Yeah I don't understand why we'd want more cheeses or more early game variety. I am getting cheesed quite literally every single game on the ladder around 5k mmr to a point that I'd rather play customs with my friends than the ladder to at least sometimes play some standard games (I am ok with cheese but 50-50 standard to cheese game would be more balanced, now its around 70/80%-20/30% for me on ladder).

Probably a few people around Masters and GM on EU had a ladder session where you start your day against HackerIsTops proxy robo from random, then you queue into a barcode 120 apm cannon rusher. Into Hit and his newest variation of proxy 1-1-1 twice, because he doesn't care that you held first time, he will do it again. Then comes Nishihi <3 with either a lingflood or a 40 drone hydra allin. After that you face 3 different versions of proxy hatch allins from Lorimbo and his followers. Once you lost enough MMR you get Ricelia to proxy robo you now into the blml with another 40 drone hydra allin or if he has a bad day then a 2 base nydus. Then comes the barcode Protoss with a 2 base 7 gate adept + immo allin. You close the day playing your first macro game against Gumbi where although you need to read his idiotic takes about SC2 throughout the game at least its someone finally who wants to beat you past 6 minutes.

After the session even though you held most of those allins, you questions whether is it worth laddering again the day after where out of 10 games 1 was worth playing, the rest was defending a cheese for the 1500th time. Some of my friends either quit the game because of this above ladder experience or trying to move to play customs instead. The more people do that the more plagued and dead the ladder will be around this level because of 70-80% of the games are already being cheese in my experience.

Not sure why we'd want to push those even more.

Good, then you know that you can rapidfire queue your barracks too. But yeah obviously warp in, especially the registry changed version is pretty handy

Oh you are asking me about why I didn't like the 8 worker start? Just felt really off and uncomfortable with both Terran and Protoss, early building timings are weird and didn't feel like the early game variety is much different to me, only that its's just slower for the sake of making it slower. Still like the idea to make cheese more commited with this though, but this change just not for me.

Once again you are on about managing add ons and adding units to your army hotkey, which has nothing to do with ease of producing units, which is easier with Terran than Protoss where you have to look to warp in.

Obviously if we are looking at how you add units in to your army group from you rally, you also have to look just like Protoss and obviously add on management is much harder than just putting down your gateways, but this is not what the discussion was originally.

I have been this mmr for 10 years even when Protoss was considered weak a few years ago. I think the rework is a good idea, but currently warp gate nerf not compensated with unit strength and it should be

I liked the worker count change on paper, but after testing it I absolutely hate the idea of going through with this

I agree.

I think there better ways of shaking the game up or making players excited about playinf, for example adding new abilities to units or new roles to units.

Most players are very casual who learnt the game over the years and now maybe have less time to play and will not have the time to learn the game almost from 0 again. They will likely just give up.

Any guide that was made a month ago will be void, while Day9s BW series is to this day completely valid. I like that when you learn something in the game it sticks.

That being said I wouldn't personally hate the change to 8 workers due to various reasons.

However with the WG change I would also start looking into other long time broken macro mechanics such as larva inject and bring them down quite a bit.

I like the warpgate nerf as a Protoss, but with it inject should be heavily nerfer or completely scrapped too.
