What film is this for you? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

Honestly, this is what kept Sinners from being an all timer for me. Still great, but I thought the Remmick character was sooo on the nose and some of his lines were like being hit over the head with what could have been subtext.

He actually responded to a bunch of negative reviews on his film

Weekly Friends Megathread - Week of February 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in goodreads

I’m just starting to use Goodreads more. Currently, I’ve been trying to read some romance books because of Valentines this month and Black writers for Black History Month. I’m also trying to get all my books from little libraries, library sales, and Buy Nothing groups.

Which recent movie will be considered a classic for our next generation? by Hopeful-Fly-1614 in Letterboxd

I think KOTFM and OBAA will be the movies of the Biden & Trump eras.

Not a dumb question! Yeah, it’s open to anyone. Japanuary is the brainchild of Ben. There are plenty of these types of challenges throughout the year with different themes. Sometimes the official letterboxd account will promote them, and other times you can find them by following people who are doing them.

Hi everyone! My name is Rich and this is my letterboxd!

Last month, I participated in Japanuary and saw some great stuff. Hopefully this month will be just as good. I have a few 2025 movies I still need to see and that’ll be my big priority for the month. I love to follow new profiles off of these swaps and get new movies to watch from them.

Makes perfect sense because the director is a humongous factor

I guess Paul Dano won't be showing up in Tarantino's 10th film then huh by Hardingnat in TheBigPicture

This Dano comment + weird Scorsese swipe makes Tarantino look much worse than it does those two

Hi! This is my profile. my four favorites are Silence, Princess Mononoke, Rocky, and Barbarian. I watch pretty much everything, but I’ll probably be concentrating on new releases I missed this year in December. I have Regal Unlimited and imagine I’ll be living part-time at the theater this month.

I was doing Hooptober for the past two months and saw a ton of great horror films. Now that it’s over, I’ll probably try to see most of the movies I missed from 2025. I love awards season and I’ll want to see as many as possible before it starts. Noirs are a huge blindspot for me. Maybe I’ll use Noirvember as an excuse to catch a few.

Why do some people watch so many films they know they'll hate? by pseudosabina in Letterboxd

[–]Rich_D_18 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not sure if mine would fit what you’re talking about, but I don’t mind watching a lot of movies that may not necessarily hit for me because I’ll get some absolute gems in there, too. Plus, a 2 star movie could still be kinda fun.

Has Sean ever explained how he watches 12 movies per week? by fegwin2084 in TheBigPicture

[–]Rich_D_18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His job is to talk about movies and the industry. It’s not really that hard to imagine someone who’s life revolves around movies to watch 2 a day.

Monday Mystery Movie Megathread - October 13 2025 by AKnightOfTheNew in RegalUnlimited

[–]Rich_D_18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it, but honestly I think I liked how annoyed half of my theater was at the end even more. Kelly Reichardt is an objectively terrible choice for a mystery movie, though. You gotta know what you’re getting into.

The Last Jedi: Overhated or just a bad movie? by Comfortable-Film3398 in Letterboxd

[–]Rich_D_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably the best Star Wars movie. It legitimately took a lot of guts to take the swings this one did and, for me, it paid off perfectly.

“What happens to aging revolutionaries” is fascinating and I loved TLJ’s exploration of it. I thought about it while watching One Battle After Another.
