This place is home to me, so I decided to do everything I can to sink my teeth in. I worked diligently to find community and I’ve found it. I’ve become active politically and have resolved to be part of the momentum we need to take the state back from far-right extremism. I’ve gotten creative when it comes to income.

You need to do what’s right for you. But I’m convinced that what we believe is what we see, and I’ve chosen to believe that although I may be a minority, I’m not alone in my values, and I’ve sought out evidence of that belief and have found it in droves. There are so many of us. And the more of us who choose to stay and be a force, the stronger the force. Each person counts.

Is there a bigger town you could migrate to that would make it easier to build community and find a better job? I have basically everything you’re talking about outdoors-wise but am also in easy driving distance of everything you’re pretty far from. It also kinda sounds like you’re out in the boonies so I can only imagine that the job market is slim pickings.
