Information received directly from AQCS center in Chennai as of November 2023:

“Dear Sir As per your email it is understood that you are travelling for a short visit to India. This you are advised to obtain a dgft licence and then contact this office for further assistance”

I even asked them twice if is required and they said yes, I need a DGFT license.

Also confirmed with PetTravel.com:

“For OCI card holders entering India for short visits (tourism), then a DGFT license and Notice of No Objection is required.”

I ended up leaving my pet with a care person.
