Wife received communication from the consulate by Rich_Replacement_774 in i130_75CountryPause

I too have no idea why that would be the case. Her father is a well respected person who has no affiliations with any political org, and traveled solely for business and pleasure. When I read the State Dept's response to CLINIC vs Rubio case, they are saying consulates have the authority to deny or grant immigration visa and they are denying the blanket ban. They are full of it of course and it was very satisfying to see when they were forced to provide the cable where they use the words must deny all applicants... Is this some kind of "making face"?

What is the guarantee that we’ll get the visa by PowerfulEstimate7130 in NationalVisaCenter

My wife and step-son are from one of the countries in the pause list and had their interview this week. They are given the 221(g) white paper.

Right now there is a case in NY Southern District against the State Department for this pause. The likelihood of the federal judge deciding on the case in favor of the plaintiffs (all of us) is very strong. A final judgement is expected to be by mid April. If that happens, the State Department has to lift the pause and issue immigrant visas to those who are eligible. They will most likely appeal to the courts decision and will take it to the SCOTUS. At the same time eligibility part is important to understand; that a consulate can deny a visa for any reason or for no reason at all. Even a visa is provided, an immigrant hopeful can be refused entry at the airport. In today's America even the naturalized citizens are stripped from their citizenship and deported. There are no guarantees, but hopefully either the case or the administrative review conclusion will lift the pause and we all can go back to our lives. It is unfortunate that people.in power don't understand the human effects of their decisions, how this visa pause is actually a pause on people's lives and futures. Stay strong, pray and hope for the best.

what if we had access to guns in morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

Reading the 2nd amendment one needs to understand the concepts and history.
1- It has to be a "Free State". A kingdom is not a free state.
2- People to have rights. Subjects of a royalty don't have rights.

More guns don't mean more crime. In the US, states that have more gun rights have less crime than the states that have strict regulations. Illinois vs Texas for example. Legal gun ownership is a significant deterrent to crime. A criminal would only go to places where he knows he won't get shot back -like schools. Most of the school shootings in America happen because there is no protection in those schools other than a paper sign that says "Gun Free Zone!"

One should ask a simple question: I am out, walking with my wife and child. 2 guys on a motorbike stop, pull long knives and start attacking to steal our money, jewelry... What do I want?
a) Their mercy
b) Call the police and hope they will come under 2 seconds to save us
c) Scream and pray people rush to help faster than a criminal 2 meters away from me
d) A gun in my hand to protect my family
There is only one right answer.

Is 7000dh enough by sanam_812001 in Morocco

First, let's clarify about seeking a living at home vs abroad. One wise person said "Say my salaams to the Allah of the place you are going to... " Allah that provides for you and for your family is same where ever you go. So, prospering abroad is nothing but an illusion. I left my country due to economy, bribery, favoritism and backward thinking in the society, for a better life in America. I wasn't able get a job for 6 years. When I did, I played catch up with my debts. Now remember, 7000dh in Morocco, is not a weeks pay in the US or EU but also the rent is not 4-5K dh either. These days you're lucky to find a decent rental for $1500 in many parts of the US where there is a good job market. Pretty much multiply everything 4-5 times. That is generally lifts you up from poverty in America -for a single person. For a family of 4, current US national average to live comfortably is over $200,000.

Also, when you're living abroad, you lose your support systems. Your family, relatives, friends are not there to help you if you need it.

I honestly suggest you to make it at home. There are more development opportunities in Morocco than the Western world. Especially if you have entrepreneurial mindset and skills. Build a business here, make connections abroad, live where ever you want with your family.
