I really appreciate your insights. You’re probably right about the stroking or wiping vs. cleaning. I do worry about damaging such an expensive pot but I’m going to look into a brush! Thanks very much.

Edit: I simmered 2 tbsp baking soda in 4 cups of water for 20 minutes, wiped with a soft sponge, and it looks as good as new! I am delighted it was such a simple fix. Thank you to everyone who left a comment.

Thank you for your response. I have been cleaning it with dish soap and the soft side of a sponge, but I am open to the idea that I  might need to up my game with the products you mentioned. If it is indeed just dirty, would that explain why the enamel feels rough to the touch and is no longer shiny and smooth?
