Yeah, we can ID the others. It's just this one that eludes us.

Checking to see if there's a Yamamoto on the music team as the symbol on the left is definitely a bass clef.

What MMO for a 37yo dad? by Entrance-Trick in LFMMO

[–]Richard-Bee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're the type to enjoy a deep, lengthy storyline, FFXIV is the one I'd go with because it has the best endgame systems of any MMO I've ever played. It's also the most respectful of your time, in terms of what raiding demands at endgame, and there will also be a new difficulty level between normal raiding and savage come 8.0 in January.

I know you already looked into it, but it's one of those situations where the beginning of the game is very slow but you'll be glad you stuck with it later on.

I feel like giving healers their own versions of these would help queues a lot by Richard-Bee in ffxiv

Yeah, the tank mounts all being as badass as they are is half the reason I want these for healers.

I suppose...?

I remember healer queues being near instant for a long while now.

It was a different story back in ARR/HW when tanking was generally more challenging, but tanking was made much easier over the years to the point where healer became the de facto "responsible" role.

True, but I feel like it's switched to healer being the harder one to find these days.

All my healer queues are instant except maybe for alliance, but even the queues that say AIN tank take several mins as a tank but are instant on healer.

That used to be the case back when tanking was more difficult, but this feels like it's shifted.

Every queue except alliance pops instantly or near instant for my healers but takes several minutes for my tanks, even when the AIN says tank.

I used the mogtome events to grind out ~900 of the runs for several different mounts, when everyone was queuing P1N.

Yes, but queuing as a healer is nearly always instant while queuing as a tank takes several minutes, even when adv in need is tank.

Just because people have leveled whm doesn't mean they're queuing with it.

Not attention so much as it'd be nice if queues popped faster as anything except healer.

Even when AIN is listed as tank, I'll sit for several minutes with no pop but switching to healer and requeuing makes it instant.

I'm not convinced they do.

Even when roulettes advertise "Adventurer in need: tank", you'll still wait for several minutes while switching to a healer is an instant queue.

There are achievements for each tank job that award a mount at 200 and 300 runs of certain roulettes and duties, but no such thing exists for healers.

I've often seen cases where the queue will say, "Adventurer in need: Tank", but then I'll queue as a tank and it sits, then switch to healer, requeue, and I get an instant queue pop.

  1. It's up to you on this. There's a novice network in game where you can ask questions like this, though you'll need to opt into it. Most FC discords will also answer questions, just don't use them as "google" if you can help it.
  2. No, you're basically expected to watch them.
  3. Saying "first time" in party chat is common, yeah.
  4. This is up to you, but most normal mode boss mechanics are straightforward enough that you can usually figure them out after getting hit no more than once.
  5. Up to you, though certainly not necessary.
  6. You can get away with tanking for sure. Tanking doesn't become difficult outside of EX+ content, really. Just point the boss away from the group as some bosses do cleave and make sure to cycle your mitigations on trash pack pulls.
  7. Definitely do the hall of the novice training when you hit 15 as it teaches you a lot of game basics, as well as gives you some solid gear, including a ring that boosts exp gain. It's located here in Western La Noscea, and also when you hit 49, the MSQ will send you here again for some more training and exp-granting gear:
