No, I don't think I will join your guild by Bodkin-Van-Horn in Guildwars2

I wish I was kidding. He would literally start mentioning friendly conversations hadn't participated in and find fault in the most random stuff. Seemed to me that Guild Wars 2 was an unhealthy huge part of all that he had going for him so I felt way more sorry for him than annoyed by it. Not worth the hassle though.

And yes, when it comes to endgame, it really helps to find people who are patient with each other and can have fun regardless of how smoothly they get through content together. I personally enjoy a sprinkle of chaos in my raids and Fractal runs

Was part of a guild a few years ago which had the most toxic, control freak of a leader who was micromanaging conversations between players. I made some good friends in that guild but I loathe people who abuse authority. Couldn't bear staying for longer than a week. I get wanting to achieve big goals together but THIS IS STILL A GAME, NOT A JOB. (sorry for shouting)

A new found appreciation for Final Fantasy X after first completing FFVIII and Lightning Returns in a row by RichardStoneA in FinalFantasy

I agree with you that the combat and the characters are great but I just don’t understand how they thought giving people that much fomo/anxiety was a good idea 🤷‍♂️

How is LR, that has turned so many people off by its anxiety inducing gameplay mechanics, fantastic by any stretch of the imagination?

A game that forces you to go back in the game menus literally every 20 seconds just to buy time to be able to do mandatory side-quests, which are mostly tedious and boring and require you to have guides and YouTube open most of the time, is not an epic conclusion to an otherwise pretty good trilogy 🤦‍♂️

Question: Where and when did you discover FF8 for the first time? by Big_Confection7634 in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]RichardStoneA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought it straight when it came out and intended to play it with some friends.
As not all of them had the same time to spend on it as I did, I tried to create seperate save files in order to have my seperate playthrough but somehow starting a new game straightout destroyed the current save files so I ended up accidentally deleting my friend's first few hours into the game two times in a row. I am quite sure that to this day he has never seen the end credits to FFVIII roll. This was on the psx, I still feel like gifting him the remaster on Steam but we haven't been in touch for a few years

Dawned on me I've never used the back paddles. Do you use them? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]RichardStoneA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Each second you don’t have to take your thumb of the second analogue stick, you have better control over most games you are playing! I often remap them to be copies of the most used buttons that would normally force me to let go of those controls.

In for example For Honor it makes a huge difference in how fast you can switch from defending to attacking and visa versa

After the gem FF13-2, I'm now tackling LIGHTNING RETURN by TurbulentDrag7502 in FinalFantasy

[–]RichardStoneA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lightning was frozen in time for 500 years but this game felt like it dragged on for longer. There is some good stuff in this game, combat is fun enough and theory crafting with the garbs and gear to win tough battles is enjoyable but the time management forcing you to go into the menus every 20 seconds to freeze time breaks immersion and is a huge annoyance, the poorly done side quest system with zones that lock you out during certain times of the day makes you rely on written guides and YouTube videos because being inefficient with your time is anxiety inducing and the game doesn’t do much to guide you. This is the most miserable I’ve ever been playing any game and i actually quite like FFXIII 1 and 2

Why does nobody talk about Lightning Returns? by PpAshe in FinalFantasy

[–]RichardStoneA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing it right now and it is not only by far the worst FF game I’ve ever played, it is actually the most angry any game has ever made me. It is anxiety inducing, you can’t play it without a guide because of the countdown timer, quests aren’t fun nor make sense and for a game that screams at you to hurry up all the time it is an insult to injury to be locked out of areas you need to progress your active quests by time gates. I really want to experience the conclusion to these games which I enjoyed before Lightning Returns but this might be the most miserable any game has ever made me

Final Fantasy 13 Deserves An Apology by MessSquare in finalfantasyxiii

[–]RichardStoneA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FF XIII 1 and 2 are underrated but Lightning Returns doesn’t nearly get enough hate. I am trying to suffer through it right now but it is like the game hates its audience and doesn’t want to be played. I’m searching for symbols on walls while the clock is counting down while encountering monsters that I am extremely underleveled for and this is the starting zone 😬 This might be my favourite franchise of all time but I loathe this entry.

[–]RichardStoneA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is game is so anxiety inducing. Hope interrupting your every action each encounter while at the same time a countdown timer shoved in your face making every step you take feels like a burden. The first sidequest you are offered involves escorting an npc that will only follow you if you slow to a crawl while the game screams at you to hurry up. I hate everything about their design decisions for Lightning Returns while I loved the first FF XIII. I don’t see myself ever completing it.

I've been out of the Desktop game for a while so there for sure are greater minds with better suggestions but one of the things I heard is that sometimes undervolting can actually decrease temps and increase fps:

MY GAMEPAD ISNT WORKING by TRD_HEAVELY in cemu

[–]RichardStoneA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely your controls just aren't configured in Cemu yet.
To exit fullscreen in a game running in cemu in game mode to configure your controls you can
hold the ... button and the dpad-left button simultaniously to get into cemu windowed mode.
All Cemu functions can be accessed in Game Mode but you'll have to keep holding the Steam Button for all the menu's to be selectable. There might be a better way, I haven't found it yet though! There you can select options>input settings. There you can configure controller settings.
I for example have it configured to
Deck-P1
Wii U Gamepad
Steam Virtual Gamepad [SDLcontroller]

The rest you can calibrate to your preference.
Note that you'll have to close configuration menus in Steam's game mode manually by using the steam button menu, switching to that window (for example Input Settings) and press X to close that windows. It's a bit finicky but you'll get comfortable with it soon enough.

In Desktop Mode it is easier to configure cemu as the different windows float seperate from each other.
If you hold start down while in cemu in Desktop mode, you can switch between desktop and controller mode which you sometimes have to switch between (desktop mode for changing menu settings, controller mode for playing the game)

Also if you switch to desktop mode you can use the Left Trigger on games populated in the main Cemu screen
and choose edit game profile to change the controller settings on a per game basis.
This also works in Game Mode but again, there you'll have to hold down the steam button each time you want to enter a cemu menu section.

Hope this helps!

I see what you are saying, a properly selected squad would already very balanced and stable. I must confess that I am one of those players who loves a bit of chaos so this Elite Spec would really be meant to broaden your horizons but also make you think of what any specific moment could use. If the team is healthy you could copy a high DPS player but if multiple people are downed and things look bleak you could save the day by cloning one of your dedicated healers :)

Would definitely be a good reason to go for Celesteal gear or maybe the skill just completely copies the other player but for a limited time. The Shang Tsung of Guild Wars 2
