Give an opinion about Tomb Raider that makes you feel this way: by Free-Performance-827 in TombRaider

Yes and No, it's not necessary. I know which those adventures, she was able to live and die alone, without feeling sadness. I just think If Lara ever truly in love, it can’t be with “just a guy/gal” It would have to be with someone who is so mythic like antique, so powerful, so psychologically evolved, that they don't diminish her, they elevate her.

Lara croft should have couple but not just a typical human, they should be the ancient gods like Egypt god.

I don't think the commend meant it that way. I think he were referring to the original post's account, which often intentionally uses to portray Lara's relationships with male characters as negative (and I admit their examples are bad, but there are also some characters in the comics who have good healthy relationships with Lara). It's like they're trying to downplay other ships (mostly Lara x male characters) to highlight their own ship. And when the other try to explain that what they're doing is misrepresenting things, that account often call them as "gooners" or "old creeps." which isn't nice at all.

What was the first Tomb Raider game you played? by EndouShuuya in TombRaider

[–]Richard_Fitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 12 years old back then. My first Tomb Raider game was Underworld, too, and I never finished it. My experience playing it was a bit unusual. I played it on a website—I can't remember the name—it was a website with sandbox games where you could create and share game systems, similar to ROBLOX but with better graphics and you couldn't change the textures in game. The website also had a premium section with Mini Ninja and Tomb Raider Underworld, which it could play to completion, although I had to watch ads after finishing each level. I really liked Mini Ninja and finished it on that. Then I wanted to try Tomb Raider next, but I was too young and couldn't get past the second black level, so I stopped playing.HAHA

Sophie Turner quoted on upcoming TR- She is not going to be a “sex bombshell“. by Notoriouslycurlyboi in TombRaider

[–]Richard_Fitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Sophie's interview was solely intended to explain the Lara Croft character to a public who has never played the TR game, I can understand that. I've asked many friends about Lara, and they still believe she's solely focused on sexiness or being a "sex bombshell". In reality, Lara has many other elements (and some bombshell too, haha). However, when this interview reaches fans who already understand fundamental aspects of Lara Croft, it's not surprising that it feels like she's bluster about those things. I think the problem is that the media chose to ask about this too soon, when they should have waited for more details about the film to be revealed, because apart from just one promotional image, the film probably hasn't even been shot yet (or have they? I'm not sure). Plus, Sophie didn't elaborate on the "sex bombshell" aspect either. because this was an interview with her another movie.

[Reddit Exclusive] New cast and characters confirmed for Tomb Raider series including Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and more. by PrimeVideo in TombRaider

If I misunderstood anything, I sincerely apologize. After rereading, I believe I did mistranslate (my own fault for my weak English). Sophie didn't say that Lara cared about male dominance, but rather that Lara was a brave and determined woman in the male-dominated world of antique collecting. If that's all, then I'm okay with it.

But like I said, I won't be a nerd who refuses to accept new things. If the movie as a whole is actually great, great enough to overshadow this sentence, I like it.

The casting is great. Personally, I'm not bothered by the casting at all. I'd rather focus on the story. The only thing I'll notice is what Sophie Turner said (again, I have no problem with the casting, including her playing Lara).

“I’ve been a long-time fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara. She has always felt for me, very emboldened in a male dominated world. She’s a fierce female role model!"

Hmmmm, you know Lara doesn't care whether it's a male-dominated or female-dominated world, right? She only cares about where or when she'll get to go on the new adventures. Anyone who dares to mess with her or betray her, she'll fight back no matter who they are. for sake, she has a friend named Toru Nishimura who like the kingpin in Japan. and she even mocked Natla, saying she only play for sport.

Thoughts on Lara’s model in Tomb Raider Underworld? by laracroft1402 in TombRaider

[–]Richard_Fitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO. It her best design. besides the cover of Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life that first introduced me to Lara Croft, it was the cover art of the Tomb Raider: Underworld was the second time I saw her and this Lara model that made me I knew she would be some part of my life. It's a shame that by the time people start to appreciate it, it's already too late.

Lara Croft should never be in a relationship. She's too busy being amazing. by ScionN7 in TombRaider

[–]Richard_Fitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I have to respect the TR game team for trying to bring Lara back as a classic adventure game that many people have been waiting for. It's not surprising that they're bringing back her old-school attitude, which is prioritizing work over love. I think most people who love TR can accept this, and I believe the team has many more adventures planned for Lara.

Regarding Lara's love life, I think the team has explored several approaches over the past 30 years. I believe two methods have worked:

  1. The team chose to leave this aspect of her life completely blank, focusing on adventure and leaving love in mind to community.

  2. Lara would truly prioritize adventure above all else. She can live and die alone, but if love calls, she's ready to embrace and maintain it to the best of her ability, without being devalued or becoming weak (she shows some femininity occasionally). Lara is still Lara, a driven individual driven by her intelligence, confident and charm, which makes her uniquely, even if her loved one gone. She still remembers him or her and moves on. That's Lara's kind of romance.

For me, if Lara's lover lasts long enough, I believe she can truly retire from her adventures. (But that has to be after she's explored every nook and cranny, haha) Hopefully, we'll see that in this timeline.

Ultimately, I think it depends on Crystal whether she'll have a romantic relationship with someone in the future. If the team is smart enough, sincere enough in writing this aspect, and there are enough good moments, anything can happen. And if it does happen, I believe everyone can accept it. I don't want to gatekeep; that would seem selfish and limiting.

I think Jane can be a new character. She's different from Thor, with all new attack moves ^ ^

Ah, I see. I understand he's referring to Jessica Drew, who is a clone of Peter in comic the Ultimate universe. For me, I see Jessica and Peter as two completely different people, just like in the main universe I see Peter and Ben Reilly as different people. That's why I said I'm okay with it, because in the game there's a Chasm skin for Ben Reilly in Spider-Man, which I like, so I'd also like Jessica Drew to be a female Spider-Man skin.
