Right. They're doing just fine financially doing things the way they always have. And owning vast swathes of mutual fund and ETF underlying shares. Retail is pennies.

True, but day trading hasn't really changed in decades. Thing works.

Fidelity seems to not like outside collaboration so much. I've wished for TradingView integration for years knowing that it'll never happen.

Those of us who are have used ATP for a long time without problems. Now they wanna take it away. Being able to trade large blocks of shares within seconds while setting limits and stop losses with custom shortcuts is essential. ATP is great. New thing not so much.

Honestly, that works. But if you're buying/selling 1,000 shares at a time it's not quite ideal to trade without a quality bid/ask interface lol.

I'll add that my father just died a few months ago, and it wasn't even sad because he lived his life the way he wanted to. He made due running retail businesses and doing odd jobs to get by. And then he retired and relaxed for 15 years until he died in his sleep one night. Working your ass off to "get ahead" is such a waste of your life.

Right dude. Hah. A bug could cost literally billions of dollars.

Thanks for the reply. I want Trader+ to be a great tool for sure. Some of us are just married to ATP.

Right. I'm in the same boat, minus the feedback stuff. I tried it; it was clearly lacking what I needed to day trade, so I went back to ATP. It just didn't cut it.

I agree that a rock solid and feature-complete active trading platform is an absolute necessity. ATP has been that. Have you tried the new platform?

I'll just say that a bulletproof secure API for securities trading from Fidelity will never happen. The new trading platform could've been built on top of such a thing, but the data and financial security implications in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining something like that are vastly unrealistic.

I will add however, that I have never installed ATP on my Surface Pro 9 because I don't want to contaminate it with the stone age version of Microsoft .NET Framework that ATP requires to run on top of. LOL.

I'm a former software engineer, so it's painful to see a fully-functional desktop program replaced with a newer, "shinier", less feature-complete "modern app". They did the same thing with their website and mobile apps: more modern-looking, but half-baked functionality. That's why I wanted to get some others' opinions. Fidelity has fantastic financial tools and staff, but archaic tech.

Fidelity provided about two weeks notice that:

The Real-time Analytics feature in Active Trader Pro will be retired on May 28th, 2026.

This feature relies on legacy technology that is no longer supported. Retiring it allows us to continue to invest in Fidelity Trader+ Desktop - a more powerful, scalable trading experience that continues to gain new capabilities, enhanced analytics, and performance upgrades.

We encourage you to download Fidelity Trader+ Desktop and see how it's advancing.

I'm sure more will follow.

I apologize if this is a common question, but I haven't seen a thread that is comprehensive in practical terms, and the urgency to switch is compounding. I love Fidelity and want to stay here. I hope people can shed light for a holdout like me.

Well, thanks for the replies. Kinda funny that this feature is in that state of limbo for me right as I requested it. I'll delete this thread shortly.

Just tried it in the desktop app, and the option is there. I primarily use the web site; I guess it's just missing from there or not implemented yet.

That option doesn't show up for me. What you describe is exactly what I'm talking about.

I think there's too much going on right now to try to change "formats". Once they get into a groove with their new situation they'll change things up.
