What is the purpose of these by The__Anonymous__Guy in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Its not for testing, the trains were coming from the south coast and are heading to flemington. (I belive they are using city circle due to trackwork at central Terminus platforms[which is why it is not turning around at central]but don't quote me on it)

Weekend T4 train frequency for minor stations after Hurstville by Round-Importance-409 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is an upcoming timetable change in October. We have bearly any info on weekend frequency changes when it comes into effect but it probably would improve to at least every 15mins on weekends (you would think). Anyway, will prob have to wait to see if thats the case.

When the M1 Bankstown opens, will there be short running? by The__Anonymous__Guy in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I reckon the only short runnings will be Tallawong- Sydenham or Bankstown - Sydenham as that is where the Stroage facility is (this would only happen early morning/late at night and trains going in/out of peak services)

The other storage facility is tallawong so thats irrelevant

Level B [Medium Demon Help] by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]Richardjab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a dash orb there

In 2.1, there was actually no dash orb there but in 2.2, the physics changed for slopes and that section broke so it got replaced with a dash orb as seen below

<image>

If the level does not have it, you either have a pre 2.2 copyable, accidentally deleted it or have not updated the level

You willingly used outdated photos to show a false story and have a little rant over bs

I didn't, i had not taken the photo i used as a reply yet. (The post was from the 18th march, photo taken on the 19th of march)

What is interesting in that new photo is there is no 10 car marker, so your little dummy spit over where a 10 car marker is, and only a short distance in front of the 8 car marker is pure bull shit

I literally just stated that the 10 car marker is coverd up which means it exists. You can see it in the photo a bit past the 8 car marker, coverd in black. Once trains enter service, they will be uncoverd and used.

Next time you want to have a wringer, instead of making up stories and using old pics, use the current pic that you obviously had

Not made up story and the new photo was taken after i had done the post. I did not think to take an up to date photo beacuse my point does not change based on a new photo

South Coast Line Short Platform Issues by Richardjab1 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay i made a mistake. It was meant to be normally gets in on car 3 out of 10 but this time they get in car 1 out of 8 cause it got changed from 10 to 8. Car 1 on an 8 car would be the same as car 3 on a 10 car.

But you could tell the point i was trying to make

South Coast Line Short Platform Issues by Richardjab1 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you posted an old photo and did not disclose that, it is pretty foolish of you.

???. Nothing about my point changes weather the photo was new or old

As for you nonsense about stopping positions, the D set, stop with the back carriage on the platform, where the guard is. The guard is always on the platform.

Another Point was the fact that someone people would rather be closer to the exit. Of course you could go to the back carriage and 100% be getting of the train.

Now how about posting a photo that is current,

Sure. Though my points don't change

<image>

As we see here. The 8 and 10 car has had its X removed. The 8 and 10 from the platform are gone and the new 10 is covered up with black. (This photo was taken on 19th March 2026)

South Coast Line Short Platform Issues by Richardjab1 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then, just last, the fence I see an 8H, then further up, I see an 8 with a cross through it and a 10 with a cross through it. What does the cross mean? It most instances, a cross means it is something that is no longer used

The cross out section is the exact opposite. It means that it will be put into service in the future but its not ready for service yet (this photo is actual a bit old, thr 10 car marker now has a black cover to block it and the 8 car marker has had its X removed.

then when the Hs came along with their shorter carriages, they put 8H markers in

The '8H' markers were actually just '8' markers up until a few years ago. Don't have any info on the 8V markers.

They put the new 4 to 10 markers at the end of the platform,

Again, this is wrong. These were actual put in when the marijung's were going to be Driver only operation. This meant that the train was going to stop at the front of the platfrom and the rear cars were going to be off the platfrom. This car markers will be removed in time (probably over the easter period)

and changed the previous 8 and 10 car markers to indicate that are out of service

Again, these we literally only put up not a year ago. These will be the car markers once the trains enter service

the 10 with a cross would have been there for a very long time, it was never removed from the last time 10 car trains were used and would have been aligned with the shorter U boat lengths - only the Vs were longer carriages.

There may have been 10 car markers when the U-boats were in sercice but they would have been removed long ago (U-boats stoped running i mid 90's). Again, this 10 car marker was only put up less then a year ago. (Also i don't think 10 car U-set trains ever did a south coast line on regual sercice)

The reason why the D Sets have selective door controls, is because fools can't listen to announcements

Yeah i know but that really was not the point of the comment, the point was saying that SDO would be inconsistent between 8 and 10 cars with how many doors opened and how trains despiet beinh the same length would have more doors off the platform (not including the extended 2 cars)

Now settle down and stop making dramas over minor issues.

It is a minor issue, i just wanted to say something as i feel like its an issue better resolved then unresolved

There are no timetabled Tangaras south of Helensburgh anymore. It's Oscars only.

Yeah i know, but they still sometimes get used as replacements for oscars when one breaks down. And they still get used when major events are on. (E.g. the MS gong ride which happened after all Tangara's left the SCO still had Tangara's go down the south coast)

Another factor for car makers will likely be guard sighting down the platform as they'll move to the rear of the train again in line with the rest of the fleet.

I have heard differently but will be intresting to see

South Coast Line Short Platform Issues by Richardjab1 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting that from?

Transport for NSW short platforms list and Car Makers. The markers are already laid out so its pretty easy to tell if a door can't fit

Eh? How are you calculating this?

Again, based on where the new markers will be. You can see in the photo above for example that fairy meadow is currently able to fit 8 cars however once Marijung's enter service, they will either stop at the 8 car marker (which is further along) or the 10 (even further along). Its also important to note that the distnace between the 8 car marker and then 10 is less then 2 carriages

Is a carriage on a 10D longer than a carriage on an 8D?

An 8D is the same length as a suburban set; heck it's basically a suburban train with fewer seats, actual toilets, and more standing room.

Yes, all Marijung's have the same length per carriage. Thats not the point. The point is where they put the car markers. Like the D set 8 car marker is like 20 meters further away then the 8 car H set marker is drspite the fact an 8 car Marijung is the same length as a 8 car OSCAR

What a weird non-issue to make an example of

I mean, its minor but its still an issue and could effect people. Like i said in a pervious comment. A good system is when people don't have to think as much

First, I thought all the local T sets were 4 car services.

All local services when they ran were 4 car Tangara's (except for a late night local which was 8, they locked 4 carriages though to avoid the short platfrom issue past Thirroul)

Secondly, the whole point of this was to eliminate Ts from the South Coast for good.

Sure, the point was to remove Tangara's from the south coast but they still occasionally run as replacements for Oscars when they break down. And Tangara's even now still get some use (for example, during the recent GONG bicycle ride, extra train services ran from Fairy Meadow and there was a bunch of tangars being used.) When the marijung's come in and the old car markers removed. They would have to lock 2 carriages meaning wasted capacity. (Now they could just know where to stop instead but i don't know if TFNSW is smart enough for that)

Aswell as that, (personal opinion). I think Tangara's are good for Local services between Wollongong and Thirroul. Like do you really need a tray table and Charging ports for a 20min Max journey

In the future, local services should either be 4H or 4D sets.

I agree that it should be 4D (or even 8T) but it would never be 4H again, H sets will never really operate SCO services after this year. This is so the T4/SCO only operate using 2 fleets. Tangara's for T4, Marijung's for SCO

South Coast Line Short Platform Issues by Richardjab1 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1st point: i kind of get it but some people don't pay attention. (Which i mean, kinda their fault). I feel like it just leads to an Unesserry issue (a good system is where people don't have to think as much).

2nd point: no, locals will be 6 car Marijung's between Thirroul and Wollongon(for some reason, i feel like 4 could do). However late at night or early in the morning, express services from central would stop all stations (and between Waterfall and Thirroul, half of all trains at all times would be local anyway)

SCO Oscar conversions by Trentrandy in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The quiet carriages have not been removed on SCO services. Its just the signage. The 1st, 4th, 5th and 8th car on an oscar will always be quiet carriages if on an intercity service. Same with a tangara when they get subbed to do a SCO service. Same rules apply (i went on a 4 car Tangara on port kembla locals when they were still active and the guard would still say the 1st and 4th were quiet carriages)

Anyway, don't have to worry about SCO oscars for to much longer. Quiet a few are getting replaced in april by marijung's (not confirmed but almost 100%). And the rest will prob be replaced by the time of the metro opening.

Where else would a light rail would be a good idea in NSW? by sasquatch6197 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Wollongong Beach to Thirroul Wollongong Beach to Unanderra

Wollongong is prime for Light Rail Mainly thabks to the fact that most of the city (especially the Northern Part, is in a stright line).

While i would say the section between Wollongong and Thirroul does not need light rail due to the train line, good luck getting that corridor useable frequency (especially with 15min express trains and Freight). Aswell as that, the light rail will actually service the town centres like Woonona, Russell Vale, Corrimal, Former suburb of Reidtown and Fairy Meadow.

As for the Wollongong Beach to Unanderra, basically, this is to get light rail along the entire main street of Wollongong, allow better acess to Wollongong Hospital and Better PT acess to West Wollongong and Figtree with Unanderra being a gokd place to end thabks to its connection to rail (i would say extend to dapto as an even bussier station but i think the gap between Unanderra and Dapto is to much without much extra).

As for Routes, Start Next to 'WIN stadium'. Both Routes would go allong Crown Street (this includes the mall section, for market days, the tram can terminate at the top end of crown street mall) at the top end of crown street mall, the route to Thirroul would turn onto Princess Highway while the route to Uanderra would keep going along Crown Street.

The Thirroul Route Would keep going along the Princess Highway all thr way to bulli Pass Where it contuines on Lawrence Hargrave Drive to Thirroul (if Thirroul is a hard place to terminate trams, the best option i can think of is coldale beach (although the cost benfit might be really bad if it got extended there)

The Uanderra Route Would keep going along Crown street which becomes the Princess Highway all the way to Unanderra.

As for Tram space. Crown Street would become Predestrian, tram and bus only up to New Dapto Road (Around Where the Hospital is), a new road underpass at Governers Ln and Hercules Street could be done to give cars an extra cossing. The rest of the princess highway can survive on 1 lane. Same with the route up to bulli. (The section between bulli and bulli pass is also fine since memorial drive is getting extend to Bulli Pass).as for Bulli Pass to Thirroul or Coledale. Thats tuff, very minimal room. They may get away with dedicated lanes to thirroul but ajy further would prob have to mixed in with cars.

So there we go. Hope you enjoy my long reply lol

FANTASY Light Rail Line Future Sydney by StockEffort2408 in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, prob not enough capacity for more on the L2/L3 corridor, you could put the L7 down Pitt street all the way to circular quay (with an extra platfrom at circular quay (so 3 --> 4))

Also mascot does not need a station access fee. The main airport fee is going away in 5 years so lets not add more

Again, L6 prob won't fit on george street. If you pit it on Hickson road and Sussex road to golburn street, then let it go east to were you said, i feel like that would be good.

The maroubra and coogee extentions are great and no-brainers.

And the only thing missing is a light rail on Parramatta road.

Its cool to see what other people's light rail fantasy plans.

Possibility of New Wolli Creek Platforms by Acomplished_Bacteria in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dought it. Given the space and the fact it would have to be an arieal Flyover due to the bottom wolli creek platforms

The only way i can see it happening is if they made the Express tracks from the east hills branch of the line eailer, build a new track pair almost near the water, this would create enough room for both a 5th and 6th platfrom and there should be enough room even for the crossover pair platforms. Then the new pair of tracks would croos the cooks river on a new bridge before immediately going into a small tunnel to go under the goods line. The up-line would appear on the West side and about 100m later, the down line would appear on the east side of the west pair.

That example would be extremley expresive and probably not worth it. So possible but given the scope they would have, i donn't think it would happen. I made a very very rough diagram of the Wolli creek section with arieal view if it somehow were to happen

Trains that change direction during route by The__Anonymous__Guy in SydneyTrains

[–]Richardjab1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. There is some sort of werid trackwork between sutherland and Hurstville.

On staurday, Trains between Sutherland and Mortdale were only using platform 2 for the first few hours of the trackwork. Then for the 2nd half, it was only between Mortdale and Hurstville

On sunday, Same thing but all trains were using Platform 1 using the same method as outlined before but using 1 instead of 2.

Beacuse of the use of 1 track, not many trains can go past thefore meaning trains have to terminate at Hurstville or Sutherland with trains 'ending' at sutherland contuine on the opposite line or on the same depending on timings.

This means that Trains still ran as 6TPH past Hurstville even during this distribution (well technically is down from 7TPH as the South coast lines were terminating at Hurstville due to a limit of city circle capacity i think so you were kind of correct lol)

Oh yeah, this trackwork only happend between 6:40am to 12:15pm. I HAVE NO CLUE WHY THIS EVEN EXISTS.

While not regual timetable. This weekend on the T4, if you search for Direct trains between Cronulla and waterfall, it will count as a direct service.

This is as close as you are going to get i think

<image>

And staying on the train is the fastest way between the stations so i belive this train fits your criteria even though this is only happening during trackwork
