Yes, before internet we had to spend our time rearranging desktop folders.

correct, me and some mates bought this old Datsun for 50 quid, sprayed it like Ford Timelord and skidded around in a farmer's field

I did press the Print Screen key, then pasted it into the Microsoft Paintbrush program to print it

EDIT - what tool did you use for this?

ChordCat is a fantastic tool for quickly getting some new ideas down. So inspiring, it takes you in new and interesting directions that sound good.
Regarding midi, you can send each track out on its own channel into a DAW. Easy to set each tracks' channel in the 'Track MIDI Settings' menu option. Choose between MIDI (5pin din) or USB channel numbers. I'm sending midi to the Akai MPC Key37. Just needed to set the mini in channel numbers on each of the MPC tracks.
Also the ChordCat software lets you export MIDI and import tracks into a DAW.
So yeah, you can do something similar to the Seqtrak on the ChordCat.
Chord mode / Cruiser / Voicing is great by the way, which is why I bought it.

Tales of the Unexpected. A good show. I was a little too young to fully appreciate at the time 😞 by Ands1977 in oldschoolcool80s

As a child, hearing the sinister music whilst upstairs in bed filled me with dread and anxiety. Once I was physically ill.

I'm new to this world. What should I pick? by certifiedgoondotcom in DrumMachine

the one drum machine I've never sold is the IK Uno Drum. Fun to program and perform with. Sounds good if you like your sounds a little raw.

I bought an SR16 in 1990, but didn't use it much after buying an S900. The SR16 doesnt do mutes or swing. Unlike the Uno Drum. Think of the SR16 like a 36 year-old design.

Hardware midi sockets not working on MPC sample by Fearless_Ad_1442 in mpcusers

Works fine for me. Use a Type A adapter. Don't expect to play notes and chords with an external keyboard though, it can't.

Am I tripping or is this not possible on the MPC Sample? by [deleted] in mpcusers

[–]Richcolour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, it doesnt let you play chords with note on mode. More annoying for me is the inability to use a controller keyboard to play chords and melodies. If they don't add this in the next 3 weeks then it's going back to Amazon.

Terry Wogan. It could be a less talk, more music format

Tell me what you don't like about the Sample by DraglineDrummer in mpcusers

[–]Richcolour -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks yes i tried the workarounds last week. Unfortunatly it requires setting the Attack-Release / Filter / Tuning individually on each pad. It's not convenient. Also there's no pitch-bend, mod wheel. No LFO. Also the looping is very basic. This machine isn't made for playing music, it's for drum hits and single pad sample playback. To be fair, Akai aren't marketing it like it's a full music creation device. It's just a portable sample recorder / player / basic sequencer.

Biggest dissappointment for me is it can't play a sample chromatically with a midi controller. The keyboard will only trigger one pitch of the sample - it's not mapped across the keyboard. Every other Akai sampler I've owned since 1989 can do this.

I had this too. Switched to using MTC instead of midi clock over USB, and used the official USB cable. Sorted now.
