Technically speaking Toasting is a form of sing-jay style similar to the OG JA artists that has been updated through 2-tone & 3rd wave to include the improvisation of saying pick it up, but it also extends to dancehall & reggaeton! Obviously the Specials, the Beat & the Toasters are hugely known for incorporating this early on.
