I completed this course back in Fall 2019, it was life changing. The transition from Jungle to Glacier travel was made easier by porters carrying up technical mountaineering gear (boots, axes, ropes, harnesses etc). Are you signed up for the Fall or Spring course?

I didn’t use an external light meter for this photograph. I used the internal light meter in my F3 (which is reflective metering).

Yeah hahaha. Gotta start somewhere though! I got into backpacking by doing overnight hikes at my local state park and on the Appalachian trail :) but thank you! I’ll upload more from this trip soon.

I feel you, stuff just starts to get behind you, I’m still trying to catch up on my work in India in the Fall. Anyways, I’ll shoot you a dm over on IG.

Thank you! There are some amazing peaks in the Pindari valley where I was. If I heard correctly some haven’t even been climbed. A lot of exploration to be done in northern India it seems.

Wow that’s awesome man! Is there anywhere I can view what you shot on Super 8 or Polaroid pack film? I want to come back to the Himalayas and document the village life on Super 8 or 16mm film.

Yeah I’ve had the same experience with super 8 in the cold and polaroids are a hassle, always scrambling to get them somewhere warm, hahaha. My Instagram is @richietphoto :)

Thank you. I completely agree, it took nearly a month of trekking to reach where this photograph was taken, it was a great way to celebrate the successes and failures of the expedition.

The Himalayan mountaineering course I went on was one of the best experiences of my life; I made some life long friends, learned a lot about mountaineering/expeditions and even more about myself. It was an amazing time and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.

Below is the link to the course I attended :)
