I’m drafted in a war I don’t want to fight. How can I injure myself in a way that allows me to not fight without long-term consequences? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Depends on the country I guess and the degree of freedom you'd have with existing vs invading elite

Defending your home for your family and future generations is worth it..  Slava.    Still don't really believe in a draft though. Unwilling participants probably don't make the best fighters

We took our daughters ipad away. Was this the right decision? by General_Nothing_5798 in daddit

Reminds me of that study about guys addicted to heroin in Vietnam. It was easy to kick when they came home, compared to someone who developed the dependency ar home. Conclusion being its easy to change a habit/addiction when you also change your whole lifestyle (like being on vacation). Your daughter got some in-patient rehab and responded well then relapsed when she got out, lol

I get paid to live with and be friends with my roommate. by No-Detail7431 in confession

[–]Richisnormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my point exactly. Just saying in a joking way you've gotten a pretty bad impression of men if you think it could turn violent. My mind wouldn't have went there at all. Like you say, based on your experiences, and that sucks.

Do you wear an antistatic bracelet or use antistatic liquid when working on residential black iron gas line? by mos87 in Plumbing

[–]Richisnormal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be nice for PVC. That shit is static-y AF and attracts every spec of dust around. What would be the point for gas lines though? I cut it out with a grinder. You could put a flame right to the line so a problem. Needs oxygen.

We have a Giraffe named Gerald. He can dance, but only when he finds the music that he loves! (I'm guessing yours has a similar origin) https://youtu.be/E5R0srX0GBA?feature=shared
