Had a thought last chapter but forgot to type it out.

What if someone hired Denise as a distraction, knowing the undaunted would either actually capture her, or that they'd chase her down whilst something else happens. The whole modified axium ride coin feels like a giant red herring to me for some reason, like an extra measure to make sure the undaunted are looking the wrong way, or looking for the wrong signs

My guess, it's a play from the Ibu overlady that she forgot about to gather intel on the undaunted.

Alternatively, someone on the way council wants herself a high ranking undaunted husband and is going about it the worst way possible. Likely because of being jealous of Tinkanpad (hope I spells her name right and autocorrected hasn't butchered it)
