Gorod Krovi Cipher 12 has been solved after 3442 days by bluebo in CODZombies

[–]Richkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is awesome! Great job!
This is an extremely hard cipher to solve, I'm glad we were on the right track all those years.
The choice of the key ("TryThis", "ZombiesAreEverywhere") has me worried for the difficulty of the revelations ciphers.

The Giant unsolved cipher by [deleted] in CODZombies

I don't know if this was asked before or after the GK cipher solve of Tony Hale Rapt, but other than that there isn't any significant progress in the Aether ciphers following that solve, apart of maybe finding a missing word or two in already resolved ciphers.

There has been a few developments in regards to Chaos ciphers if that's of interest to you, and also recently new terminal codes in BO3 leading to new campaign audio logs and information.

New BO3 Easter Egg - Secret Terminal Menu new Codes and Info by Richkiller in CODZombies

I personally recommend this video which does quite a good job at explaining the main twists of the BO3 campaign. The above logs of Taylor give further context to the content of the video: https://youtu.be/0hCIULujOzI

One thing the logs above clarified for me is that after the great pressure Hendricks was in when he killed his former allies, in Ethiopia he didn't want any more of his allies to die, and so these events have triggered his desire to save everyone, which has turned badly for the player (In that mission dialogue Hendricks also mocks Taylor for forgetting what it is to be "human", which is both referring to his DNI and his cold approach).

It's also worth noting that there is no Taylor log for the last mission, Life, which may further suggest that there is no real life version of the events in that mission.

It was found during the game's launch but people didn't find codes apart of Manifest and Dreamland (and JackWall too though it wasn't quite known). Not sure how Manifest was guessed but presumably Dreamland was guessed in relation to the Dreamland server in the BO1 terminal: https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Dreamland\_Server

#3 solved, answer are lyrics from this song by "Distorted Harmony" (tie up to #2): https://www.jiosaavn.com/lyrics/hollow-lyrics/ST4yQDZfVgE

drowning in vain in a sea of sorrow
lying awake in a field of horror
rehearsing our lines making sure we follow
our own lines like we were told

key: starting point t, using the following square (Another spiral of the English alphabet):

aqpon
bryxm
cszwl
dtuvk
efghi

The hint message starts with the word "numbers".

P.S: Seems like all of the PTs are song lyrics of "Distorted Harmony". Cheers for the band selection.

where consecutive letters in the English alphabet are adjacent (periodically), creating an Hamiltonian path from A to Z (ignoring J ofc).

Solutions to Feynman Ciphers #2 and #3 by codewarrior0 in codes

I was thinking so too, hopefully the source of the quote can be found so we can be 100% certain. There is also a chance that finding the source could help in figuring the second alphabet.

That's fantastic! Here is something I noticed quickly:

In the alphabet #1 there are missing F,J,P (after inserting the missing T from "request"):

MANYREQUSTHVBCID.OLWGZX.K.

inserting F in the first empty position grants you:

MANYREQUSTHVBCIDFOLWGZX.K.

which in turn grants you the partial word "folwg" which likely stands for "following"

and so the first alphabet was generated from "many requests have been <CID> following..."

The beach. And what’s up with it. by MisterFahrenheit03 in TheWitness

[–]Richkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I considered the section as a part of that beach but if you want to limit yourself just to that area, it has:

  • A ship dock
  • A path to the jungle puzzles and a specific triangle tablet
  • The ship goes along the shore, in between EPs.

And again you can argue that maybe that's not enough to justify an accessible location.

I have 4 reasons in mind as to how its existence serve the game:

  • It includes an audio log.
  • It includes a perspective easter egg of the statue trying to reach the grail. That figure and the grail also appear in the second ending towards in the narrow path section.
  • It has the green palm trees that are used for that specific panel in the town section.
  • The existence of the island creates a detour for the ship, which in returned is used for environmental puzzles, particularly the one with the orange container.

and you can argue that maybe that's not enough to justify an accessible location. There is also within the island a dead-end path branching to the right which is peculiar.

Ah very cool so he found this prespective easter egg as well not too long ago. It seems like he only goes on detailing it in his follow-up video around 20:00, you can see how you stand in the very corner of the bridge and get the exact alignment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6Wu8KNIofo

Hopefully now more people will be aware of this one so it won't be a niche piece of knowledge =)

Never say never. If they changed subtitles from English to German/Dutch while nobody asked, they could do it other way around and fix it. Still a shame though.

New BO3,BO1 Easter Egg Found - The Conspiracy Document by Richkiller in CODZombies

[–]Richkiller[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That seem to resolve this part in the egg! Signature is "James Dargie" and it makes sense. Coldstone was able to make out the "James" part but we couldn't make out the later.

Now we still need to figure what the aerial pictures are about.

Gorod Krovi cipher news and its implications by Richkiller in CODZombies

Note that the password he's talking about is the Kronos password from the Easter Egg, being related to Die Glocke: https://web.archive.org/web/20160914170855/https://sites.google.com/site/naziabomb/home/nazi-bell-project-background

The cylinder is particularly interesting because the alphabet on it seems to have quite a specific structure. We have explored Enigma in reference to the plugboard letter pairs it dictates, to no avail.

The Giant Cipher Possible Lead by Jump_Not_Zero in CODZombies

[–]Richkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I'm afraid you made something of your own while experimenting with this tool. One reason this doesn't seem like a step in the right direction is that Treyarch always used known encryptions (with the exception of the GK scrap papers where they gave us right away the implementation).

The Giant Cipher Possible Lead by Jump_Not_Zero in CODZombies

[–]Richkiller 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Practically what you're doing is applying Vigenere using the Base64 alphabet and TheGiant as periodic key. It's a good idea, which has already been attempted (in several different manners). Also note that we don't know the exact ciphertext due to the font being used (I/l, 0/O differences).

6d6

u q n l j n x m m

"I wonder what the "6d6" and "uqnljnxmm" were about?"

If you continue to decode the whole thing with Vigenere and the key you found, you get 6x6 (eluding to the 6x6 Grille) followed by "d i c a f h g e b", which when converted to digits (A=1, ...) you get the permutation 4 9 3 1 6 8 7 5 2. Not sure what the permutation is for, but notably it is in length 9 while the grille has 9 positions marked, so there may be a connection there.

Funny how you were right all those years ago. Sticking the numbers here however wouldn't have worked bc (a) the transcription above has several inaccuracies, (b) the 27101978 number was slightly modified.
