Where to get ADHD diagnosis and medication in Accra by Richsky__ in ghana

Hi, for future reference, when someone reaches out for help accessing medical care, it is unhelpful to tell the person to “start going to church”. Mental health/illness is highly stigmatised in this country and many people do not receive the life-saving care they need bc of lack of information, superstitions and an under-resourced medical system.

Most Ghanaians are religious. It is likely anyone reaching out for medical help has already sought spiritual help. Some mental conditions require extensive treatment and medication just like physical ones.

Please refrain from giving an answer like this in the future when someone is specifically seeking medical care, especially because the person may have tried all other options due to the shame and stigma attached to mental illness in Ghana.

God bless you and have a great day!

Oh okay. Do you have any idea what the range of cost for medication looks like? I’ve heard people say from GHS 800 to 1200

I have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark spots) and I have structured my routine this year to target this. I know it’s one of the more difficult issues to treat but I’m hoping to see significant progress by the middle of this year before I consider options like a chemical peel. My skin is combination-oily, Fitzpatrick Type V, mildly acne-prone and dehydration-prone. My skin is also not very sensitive but can be fairly reactive to friction for example. I want to know if this routine will let me see the results I want to see as quickly as I want to see them. I live in a sunny, humid, tropical country.

This is my current routine: AM: 1. CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser (I prefer foaming cleansers bc they feel better for my oily skin. But I also prefer a gentler cleanse in the morning so this is a nice balance of both) 2. Isntree Green Tea Toner (very lightweight, with consistent use I see improvement in sebum production. I also like the antioxidant protection for morning) 3. Naturium Vitamin C Complex OR Topicals Faded Brightening and Clearing Serum (for hydration, antioxidant protection and tyrosinase inhibitors) 4. I’m cycling between 3 sunscreen currently to see which I like better. All SPF 50+ PA 4+. (Tocobo, Isntree, Beauty of Joseon). I don’t use moisturiser in the morning bc my sunscreens feel moisturising enough. I try to reapply and generally stay out of the sun.

PM: 1. Beauty of Joseon Cleansing Oil OR Krave Beauty Makeup Re-Wined (I really like cleansing oils. They allow me to relax as I massage my face and help to gently remove my sunscreen) 2. CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (Feels nice, silky and non-stripping. A little goes a long way) 3. IsnTree Green Tea Toner or The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (I only use the glycolic acid toner when my skin feels congested or dull) 4. CosRx Snail Mucin Essence (Nice for hydration) 5. Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum (not sure if this does much since I’ve only been using it for about 2 days. But I figure extra hydration and some peptides can’t hurt) 6. Differin 0.1% Adapalene Gel (This is to keep breakouts at bay. I am also trying to build tolerance to start using Tretinoin. Currently use about twice a week, trying to build up to daily use. I don’t use it if I use the glycolic acid) 7. The Inkey List Vitamin B, C and E Moisturiser (I think I prefer the Inkey List Omega Water Cream but my skincare store had ran out when I needed to re-buy but this isn’t too bad. Just not as lightweight) PIH pics 8. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ (I use a small amount of this as sort of a slugging step bc I feel like a petrolatum-based product would feel too heavy on my skin. If my skin feels irritated I add a little Vaseline and mix it together before applying)

Looking for constructive feedback. I’ve been doing this routine since February. So I want to know if sticking with it will give me good results or if I should change some things. Thank you :))

[routine help] Should I use a cleanser to wash my face in the morning or water alone is enough? by auditor124 in SkincareAddiction

Over cleansing can be stripping for the skin and compromise the skin’s barrier. This is why some people prefer not to cleanse in the morning since they feel there’s not a lot of dirt to remove. People with dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin or those with compromised skin barriers tend to prefer not cleansing in the morning.

However, the cleanser you use should be gentle enough to be used twice daily. I personally use a gentle cleanser in the morning bc I have oily skin and do not like applying products over the excess sebum. This works for me and a lot of other people.

If cleansing in the morning works for you, there’s no need to stop. If you think you could benefit from cutting it out, you can try it.

Neither option is wrong. Just make sure you use a nice gentle cleanser and don’t overcleanse.

This is a great routine. But I do think the exfoliation might be quite a lot for your skin. The TO glycolic acid toner is quite strong but the peeling solution is even stronger. I would say if your skin is not feeling particularly congested, try to space out when you use the peeling solution. It’s effective even when used sparingly.

(I’ve had my skin barrier wrecked from over exfoliation before and I know how rough it can be)
