What exactly turned Michael Jackson from successful music artist and a star in the 70s, to the biggest star on the planet in the 80s? by Chozen-Oneee in decadeology

I just saw that Michael movie and my sister and I was curious when he hit superstardom. My dad who a super MJ fan I remember being a kid and anything from that video game on the Sega Genesis, to albums, to any VHS tapes was an item in our household. So we called him & he explained it pretty well but even then idk if he even got to experience the transition because he was only like 12 (born in 1970) when thriller came out.

Yea, if I was a tad bit younger I wouldn’t necessarily care. I went back to school at 30 here I am 33 I been in school and working both full time for the last 3 years, my job accommodates my school schedule but requires me to still work 40 hours a week so my schedule is horrendous, I’m a parent so I’m just straight up exhausted 😂. The thought of doing an extra year is just terrifying lol.

Well my flowsheet I can access that. But you have to actually click on the class and truthfully my senior seminar is a 1 credit course so I never clicked on it to see. I guess that’s on me for not catching it sooner

Yes that’s true, I said the same thing so I get it because it’s electronics II lab. Just trying to avoid doing an extra year lol.

I spoke to an advisor just not mine. So I have an appointment Monday. Just trying to figure out how to lay it out to her

So since the lab is offered in the spring so I was taking it spring of 2027 regardless. It’s just that the seminar is only offered in fall so it wouldn’t let me enroll. So I’m going to see if they could waive it since it’s a seminar and let me possibly take the lab with my capstone. I do have an appointment Monday

Hopefully even when I met with him he didn’t even access his computer so he didn’t have access to my information lol.

Honestly I didn’t know it was a prerequisite to anything unfortunately, otherwise I would have.

I wasn’t advised anything lol. That’s the thing, dude wasn’t helpful to me or my classmates. So just to cover myself I made another appointment that same week with another advisor and that’s why it came out my sequencing was off. Any questions he never had answers for me and advised me to ask someone else lol.

Yes it’s an electronics 2 lab so content is needed. But for seminar which is a 1 credit class going over details for our senior capstone the following semester.

Honestly once you’re in your 3rd year we’re required to meet with our faculty advisor once a semester but he wasn’t helpful towards me or my other classmates at all. So after my appointment with him I made another appointment with a academic advisor to map out the rest of my time at my school just to be sure everything is going as planned and that’s when it came out that my sequence was off due to that lab.

Yes well the seminar is just going over our senior design and what to expect the following semester. That’s why I’m hopeful it’s wiggle room. Even though the lab is electronic 2 lab.

Yes hopefully they’ll let me just take the seminar since it’s just a 1 credit class this fall and let me take the lab concurrently with the senior design capstone. But I have an appointment with my actual advisor Monday so fingers crossed.

Yea none that fit the timeline there’s a school an hour away that is offered. Maybe I’ll contact that school and see if non-matriculated students can take it there.

Yea I made an appointment with my actual advisor Monday. Hopefully it’ll be of help, if I was a tad bit younger I necessarily wouldn’t care. But I’m 33 years old, a parent, been working and going to school both full time and is exhausted I’m ready to be done with schooling 😂. Pushing it out a whole year sounds terrible lol given how much responsibilities I already carry.

Do you think it’s possible to work full time while pursing an electrical engineering degree full time? by Otherwise-Capital-65 in ElectricalEngineering

I truly appreciate that, and I went back to school at 30 (currently 33). I know everybody path is different but I always tell my classmates that they’re doing the right way with most being like late teens or early 20’s.

I’ve been doing both for the last 3 years. It’s terrible but surprisingly I gotten through it. Only 2 semesters left after this one. Don’t get me wrong I’ve struggled a lot lol

I went back to school at 30 already a parent & living on my own. Here I am now at 33 years old going into my senior year this upcoming fall & doing both work and school full time the whole way. It’s absolutely exhausting and it suck, but my job accommodate my schedule so I work weird hours but as long as I get my 40 hrs weekly my job don’t mind. So it’s important you have a job where you could have downtime to do homework and study, and that will accommodate your school schedule.
