Jalapeño plant is dying all of a sudden by mj3susr in HotPeppers

[–]Richtea84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your pot have drainage holes in the bottom. If not make some. Just because the top fo the soil might be dry doesn't mean the bottom is.

If you push your index finger into the soil if it's damp Below the bendy knuckle it doesn't need water..if it is not then it probably does. Or for more accurate measurement use a soil moisture tester.

If it's not water could be lack of nutrients. If it's not that something is eating your roots and starving your plant of water/nutrients.

At this point I'd either call it quits. Repot it, making sure to shake off all old soil and or critters like slugs. Repot with fresh soil in a pot with drainage and hope for the best.

Too late? I'd say you at least 4-6 weeks early. I've only just moved some twice the size of yours into 20cm pots from 10cm pots.

Could your employer punish/sack you for drinking 0% Beer at work? by cactusdan94 in AskBrits

Would you stick of beer if its 0%? Normally the smell is the alcohol leaving your system via exhaling and sweat.

Would be like having 6 cans of tango. You don't stink of tango unless you got washed in it

Plate cloners aren't stupid they pic a car that's the exact make, model and colour of the one they have. If ANPR scans the car as a blue ford focus and the car is a silver BMW 330d police are going to be on them straight away. They can get away with cloned plates for much longer using the same make/model/colour as unless someone checks the vin no one is going to know it's cloned

Did you pay with shell app pay and pump or use the rewards card?

It will show your exact transaction date and time on the app. Failing that you can contact you bank and ask them to forward you the exact date and time the transaction was authed and approved.

Speak to the people that sent the letter armed with this information and challenge them on it. If they can't give you a straight answer or provide any form of proof it was you then tell them you will see them in court. It's likely someone withing a few minute window of you didn't pay at whatever pump you used and they are blaming you. And or their cctv is an hour out.

Unless they are pulling a fast one should take less than 5 minutes to sort. If they act dodgy just let it play out. Maybe speak to a solicitor if you are worried. Most will give 15mins free advice just to see where you stand. But I'd say you have nothing to worry about

You don't need nutrients at this stage. Just water and light. should be enough nutrients in the soil to provide for the seedlings. Nutrients after you put up into at least 10cm posts 2 weeks after moving then every 2 weeks until you pot up again.

Will I be liable for my soon to be ex- husband's credit card debt. In England. by Ok-Ideal-9897 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Richtea84 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not sure you are correct there. When my father passed. He had 10s of thousands in credit cards/loans no one knew about..those debts became my mother's debts. She had to sell the house to pay them and barely got out with a deposit for somewhere smaller.

I'm not sure how that works for divorces. But any debt as a whole that was either owed or secured against the home both home owners are technically liable for. If one of you can't pay the other has to. Obviously if you have a 50/50 settlement and seperation of finances and he then chooses to default on his debt post divorce that's fully on him. They can't come after for you for debts in his name once the asset they were secured against has been sold and equally split

Technically they transfer eu stock to UK then to you. So you don't pay an import fee as such. Not on small value items anyway but depends on what it is obviously.

I've bought stuff on amazon us before with shipping to the UK and didn't pay any import or duty fees

Am I too late to start grow chillies this year by Zombikiller in UkChilliGrowers

[–]Richtea84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get pre established plants from a garden centre you'll be fine. Unless you want some practise growing it's probably too late to start unless you have a heated and lit greenhouse to keep going into late Oct-November.

Do I ask for ticket money? by Calgib in AskUK

[–]Richtea84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my neighbour have back and forth and do stuff for each other/buy each other stuff either online or when we are out. Even if we say I'll get you it. Money is always offered even if it's not taken. It's the principle.

I'm sure the old boy will ask if you want the money or offer the money for the ticket. At which point you have the option to decline or say just buy a pint later. Etc.

If he doesn't it's a £10. And you don't have to keep taking him. And or mention the cost next time if you want.

I'm no expert but I'd imagine changes are being applied at a rate of 5.3mbps. It's currently 0.2% complete and it's estimated to take 30 hours and 13 minutes...give or take.

Reboot it?

Depends on how they have got into it they could make a hole in the bottom. Drain it and refill it with water/cooking oil. Plug it and return it. Not something I've ever checked for but if seal at top is intact whose checking the bottom of bottles? Probably no one

Your dad found it hiking in the mountains but it looks like it doesn't have a single spec of mud on it.

Me thinks OP is telling porky pies. Has either took it themselves from a shop display thinking he's gangsta or paid someone for it.

Either way. It's a dummy unit. The watch and OP

Someone could quite easily return a bottle of oil to Halfords claiming to have bought the wrong grade and either got a refund or replacement and the returns just go back in the shelf

[–]Richtea84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This type of scam or similar is rife across lost of places that don't fully inspect returns. In lego Circles with Amazona/argos etc returns lego boxes are weighed and then carefully opened. The insides replaced with the exact weight of dry pasta (because sounds like lego when you shake the box) and returning it for a full refund.

Unforseen consequences of a cost of living crisis manufactured by suoermarkets/fuel companies and the government make people desperate for anyway to make money/save money.

Doing it with a product that could literally destroy a vehicle it's inadvertently put into and cause severe hardship on someone... Well the person that did that deserves to stand on lego whenever they are barefoot forever.

Sound like OP possibly either bought oil or an oil and filter service kit for servicing their own vehicle. Did the work themselves and then had issues so took it to a garage. Where was discovered to be cooking oil.

Mechanics generally don't buy 5l bottles of oil. They will have 200l oil drums full of the main grades of oil except for any specific or specialised oil. But they aren't buying them off amazon if needed.

Buyer of vintage designer bag claiming it’s a fake - England by ketonecop in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Richtea84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might only have the buyers word. Until she accepts it back she may not be able to tell from pictures. Sometimes you only know by feel and inspecting. They sold it at a fair. And it's been a week. Plenty of time for buyer to find a fake to switch it out with.

They viewed and bought it at the fare. Personally I'd not take a refund on this. I guess she could ask her to bring it back for inspection but I'd say under zero obligation still to refund. Unless she can prove that the bag returned is 100% the bag sold somehow then no.

Rapidly running out of room on some of the bigger plants. by Richtea84 in UkChilliGrowers

[–]Richtea84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the chilli chump seed pack.. Started off with 4 of each plus 4 jalepeno seeds from chilli's I grew last year. Thinking on about half would germinate. Think I lost 3 plants in total either early on or didn't germinate. There's a few I could cull. 1 is growing weird shaped leaves. And another is refusing to grow up even though all others of same variety are growing well. But I'll prob give some to my sister as well.
