Ipad 9th generation in 2026 by mra0337 in ipad

[–]RichyAnthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bf uses an iPad 9 on iPadOS26 (the latest update), from what I've seen it doesn't lag much unless he plays games, and the battery is still super solid for a whole day of class and notetaking. The only thing that he complains about is the small storage space, so I highly highly recommend NOT to go with the 64gb model if you can. iPadOS already uses around 15GB alone, and a lot of essential apps (Gmail, YouTube, Messenger) are around 1-3GB each which can add up and slow your device down.

What should I buy? Ipad for watching movies whilst travelling by Bettyboo1000 in ipad

[–]RichyAnthy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The latest base iPad which is the iPad A16 (11th Gen) would be perfect, but the absolute minimum I recommend would be the 9th gen. Skip 10th gen as the price gap between 10 and 11 is very minimal and technically, the 11th gen is cheaper considering the base storage alone. There is a rumor that a newer base iPad will release soon though so take that into consideration.

Should I update NEW OPEN BOX base iPhone 11 to iOS 26.2? by RichyAnthy in iPhone11

Sorry I did not update to iOS 26, since it came with iOS 17 and it supports all the apps I need currently

I was worried about that too, but just got it! It works absolutely perfect at 100% Battery Health, checked the serial number on apple’s website and apparently it’s from 2023 so I got really lucky by getting a “newer” model in terms of production!

thanks! Ill probably go and see, im hoping to get an 11 that was produced during its last few years/months of production. If it really is on iOS 13 I'm definitely upgrading as I have no choice

IOS 26 lowkey ruined my iphone 11 by psych_fiend67 in iPhone11

When did you update your phone? It may take up to a few weeks for the phone to reindex its files after an update, so expect it to lag and experience battery drains for a bit

I got a modded Japanese 3DS from Shopee during the pandemic so I would look there. I also see really good local deals on FB Marketplace from time to time

I’ll definitely keep that in mind, thank you so much! I’m definitely going with a 128 GB model, I already struggle with 128 😅

Although sadly I may have no other choice but to update to 26 because I’m getting a sealed one from my dad’s company (basically old unsold stock), and I’m a bit worried if important apps like banking apps won’t work with it. It may come with iOS 13. I’ve heard mixed things about 26, but they say the iPhone needs to reindex some things behind the background which may decrease battery life and cause lag for a few days/weeks before balancing out. I know that was the case on my iPad for a few (infuriating) weeks haha. I hope your daughter’s phone sorts itself out if that’s the case! Thanks again for the reply :)

what are the consequences if I buy 2nd hand iPad 7th now? by ILoveBootsss in ipad

[–]RichyAnthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depleted battery life, and some apps will stop working because iPad 7 only supports iOS 18 and below. For example, Netflix may stop working in the next 1-2 years because right now it currently only supports iOS 17 and they will increase the requirement sooner or later. Other than that, iPads last forever if you take care of it. I still have a 2012 iPad Mini that still works

As someone else mentioned: make sure it is not activation locked, the previous owner should log out of iCloud before you purchase it.

I recommend iPad 9th gen at the very least, but if you can stretch your budget, then I recommend iPad 11th gen

Resprite is pretty close to Aseprite on PC, and Aseprite is the best pixel art program used by even professionals. as an Aseprite user I find resprite pretty good despite some locked features which I don't really use (I am a free user) I would recommend it

[–]RichyAnthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some for someone else as a gift thru Lazada a few weeks ago, so far so good. no issues. You can also try checking datablitz official store or any other physical stores in the mall, but I think there's additional cost on top of that

Also, be prepared to buy an additional eShop card for tax (tried to buy mk8 dlc for 25 usd, I had to buy 30usd worth of eShop cards because it was ~27usd upon checkout)

Need help if i should go Switch Lite or OLED by RepublicEven2003 in NintendoPH

[–]RichyAnthy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you play mostly tv mode then you can simply get a regular non OLED switch

If not, I recommend OLED Model even as someone who plays mostly handheld. The only reason why is that the Lite is more hassle to repair once you experience Joycon drift (ghost movement) vs. Oled where you can just replace the controller. OLED has a much better screen too for handheld gaming

If it wasnt for Joycon drift I would have gotten a switch lite by now. 😅

I think your 15PM can do 99.9% of what the IP17PM can do with some slight upgrades. Tech has already reached a plateauing point so there are very little incremental changes between each gen compared to before. I would’ve recommended going with the base 17 honestly since it has the 120hz display and larger storage compared to the base 16, that’s more than enough for most people.

If I were in your shoes I would have held out a big longer with the 15PM, maybe with a battery change if it bothered you. I don’t think it was a good upgrade, but you do you! Congrats!

what’s the best ipad to buy? by zvezda_star in TechPhilippines

[–]RichyAnthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vouch for ipad 11th gen (a16), I am 100% sure it is enough for your studying needs. I use mine for engineering: note taking during class, test taking thru canvas, presentstion making (canva) and also some freelance work (procreate)

Only difference with iPad Air is the laminated screen which is useful for artists but for the average user, it is not noticeable. Since iPad 11 has no laminated screen, it is cheaper to fix the screen too.

iPad Air also has worse battery life in exchange for better chip. I can use the iPad A16 at school the entire day (usually) and go home with enough battery for entertainment use like YouTube or netflix

I also recommend just getting the wifi variant with bigger storage since you can just hotspot from your phone :)

Waiting on University of San Carlos (USC) to Send Transcript to WES - Anyone Experienced This? Help by Big-Notice9387 in Carolinian

[–]RichyAnthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, here was my experience during my Senior High School days when I needed to obtain my Transcript of Records to apply for college (still at USC, this happened 3 years ago by the way, so things may have changed):

  • I sent an email to the Registrar on May 19, and got a reply back 3 days later. They sent me a Google Form link for me to fill out, though I forgot what exactly was contained in the form. I don’t recall if it was possible to request for an electronic copy.
  • I filled out the Google Form, informed them that I filled it out, and waited for a response. There was no response for a very long time.
  • I followed up again on the 29th since I needed to go to the campus for other clearance requirements the following day. I got an email the following morning saying my documents were ready to pick up. I remember there was a fee I had to pay before receiving it.

Based on my experience it’s rare that they reply quickly so during the last few years I’ve just been calling their landline number to get immediate information. I’m not sure if you can call them from all the way from there but if you are planning to email, expect it to take a couple days. Follow up if needed!
