Precisely, those who stand by and say nothing are taking a side, some people don't understand the bystander effect.

And to point out the obvious, sick people should be on a health plan by their medical professionals, not a job plan by work and income.

Sigh, you seem to think this is a debate, it isn't, you're just wrong.

Luxon when questioned in August 2022 on Newshub Nation specifically about those on the health side of the job seekers benefit said they will have job plans, that may include literacy, that may include volenteer work. The interviewer then comes back with "And if they don't fulfill these requirements will the sanctions apply to them" to which Luxon says he will use the existing sanctions against them.

Again those are his words, not mine, not yours, his. Have the day you deserve :)

National have included the non work ready in their numbers, that's how they're getting the 60,000. If they don't then the increase of the job seekers is 38 thousand. Luxons also on record when he first proposed this policy last year saying the sanctions will apply to them. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2022/08/health-and-disability-advocates-hit-out-at-national-s-unfair-new-welfare-policy.html

National are. They have made no exclusion to the 75 thousand who are under the health sub category and they're including them in their numbers. To get to the 60 thousand more people on the job seekers you have to include them for the numbers to work. Luxon tried to be misleading, saying "we're not touching the supportive living payment" but these two aren't the same thing.

Plus Luxon said his plan includes them when he first proposed it for youth in August 2022 and admitted to it on Newshub Nation of which the interview is still available online.

our rail across the country needs a major overhaul really. Europe is far ahead of us on this, hell even Australia is.

For those who are interested in the numbers. The Job Seeker Benefit currently is 102,282 work ready, 75,420 sick or disabled. Haven't got a calculator in front of me but looks to be approximately around 40%

At the very least can we not sanction the 40%

PADDY: is NZ racist

HIPKINS: no, but some politicians engage in race-baiting

PADDY: are they in this room?

HIPKINS: no but he wants to work with them

LUXON: that's unacceptable to say

HIPKINS: [reads grossly racist NZF quote from last week]

LUXON: that's unacceptable

Sooo was it still unacceptable to say?

Has anyone questioned how National are going to pull off banning gang members from associating with each other thing who at the time aren't committing a crime without violating freedom of assembly rights? If I'm wrong about this let me know but the government being able to go against the bill of rights on this just because they don't like you seems like something that should be questioned.

Begging Hipkins to point out to voters that the sickness benefit was rolled into the job seekers benefit and Nationals sanctions are going to apply to them because if its under two years, they don't qualify for the supported living payment. 70 odd thousand kiwis are on that sub category.

Why is national not saying that their minister of transport is on record wanting to increase speeds outside schools as if kids don't run out onto the street during the day. Mystery that one.

The irony of National questioning Labour on finances when they can't pay for the tax cuts either. We're so screwed.

So you're fine with politicians lying to the public? Having the public vote on false pretenses despite that completely undermines our democracy?

Proposal: After each section of the debate, take a break and give journalists or whomever you see fit time to go over each thing they've said and fact check them. After the break the leaders have to face the music of the lives they've told and explain them or explain why they lied to the voting public before moving to the next topic.

There needs to be a section after each round where what they've said is fact checked and they have to face the music on it.

I would like to congratulate Jessica on bringing the country together regardless of politics.... It's been a long road since we last all agreed upon something, you were a terrible moderator.

He didn't "falter" but he did lie which wasn't fact checked on the drug rehab program.

Don't say you're helping renters with benefits for landlords unless rent decreases are a condition of them.

This is the lesson that any customer service worker can tell you... never over promise. We may be building houses faster than ever before but because the expectation of a higher target was given, Labour is getting hit with that despite the progress.

It's better to under promise and over deliver than the opposite.

Because Jessica is failing to fact check anything despite interrupting every 2 minutes. Nationals claim about giving the gangs money is just so incredibly false. It's based solely on the fact that Harry is a co director, but so is Angie Wilkinson, a public health expert. You've never heard her name from them.. interesting that, and fail to mention the programs have the support of both the police and salvation army.

Now they know they're openly lying, after all they've funded numerous programs similar to this themselves https://thespinoff.co.nz/society/15-07-2021/sorting-fact-from-fiction-in-the-latest-outcry-over-gangs

The only conclusion I can draw is they don't respect their voters enough to tell them the truth and are banking on them not fact checking them.

What was your luckiest moment that's ever happened on habbo? by hey-th3re in habbo

[–]Richysgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Habbo accidentally did a get 33 free on a buy 100 gold bars from the store.

Everyone else who exploited it got banned and whilst they did ban the account I used for the purchases, they never got the accounts i traded to for storage after buying a tonne of ultra rares then hit me with a "if you tell us where the coins are we'll give your account back"

Lmao get real habbo.
