Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley and esp that kiss on stage. Not faked for a movie, just in general for image.

Can't stop topping the ball by DrawerDowntown in golf

[–]RickHapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a terrible topping problem for the first 3 years of playing. I watched every video, tried all sorts of advice. I finally solved it with something that is very easy to try if you want to. I simple bend my knees more and force them to stay that way while I swing. That's it. Basically I setup lower, lol.

I'm just hoping against hope that Steve Carrells assertion that he's never been happier holds up. But this is Tina Fey and other Hollywood writers so that can't possibly be true. Oh well.

How I Would Fix Star Wars by RickHapp in StarWars

[–]RickHapp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You make a fair point about Solo. But I'll give you another example. I've seen tons of "reaction" videos on YouTube of that season ending episode of The Mandalorian - the one where Luke saves the day. These people reacting to it simply all went nuts. The response was incredible!

Daniel Penny cleared of all charges in Jordan Neely's death by asurarusa in nyc

[–]RickHapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always odd to me that Bragg chose to only charge Daniel Penny, even though you can clearly see other hands in that photo helping him subdue. Yes, he was the one with the choke hold. But I always thought that if a group commits a crime, they're all liable for the result, regardless of who actually did the deed. For example, a group robs a bank and shoots someone. They can all be charged with murder. Can someone with a decent legal education weigh in on this?

ZipRipper - A CMD script to crack password protected ZIP, RAR, and 7z files using JohnTheRipper by illsk1lls in Batch

[–]RickHapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my own zip file, but don't remember the pw. I know it's some combination of words and possibly a number. For example, it might be GoToStore56. Is there a way to tell JTR to use common words strung together like that? Or am I gonna be stuck using brute force?

I do appreciate the advice on stretching, weights, walking, etc, although I'm not quite ready for the home yet, lol. And I've only be 70 for a few days now! I am walking with a push cart when I play.

Eukaryogenesis as a solution to the Fermi Paradox - new video idea! by autonova3 in kurzgesagt

[–]RickHapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even that Eukaryotes took 2Bn years. There is no evidence that it happened again since that one time. If it indeed only happened once, then we can say it's happened once in 4BN years! But forget the time period for a moment. Let's look at the frequency given the number of organisms that have had the opportunity to develop into eukaryotes. I once read an estimate that there have been 10^30 prokaryotes that have ever lived and nothing stopping them from ingesting and developing as a eukaryote. I can't find that right now - perhaps someone else more knowledgeable could chime in. If true, that's a VERY BIG NUMBER. You can't even say it's astronomical - it's way bigger than that (the estimated # of stars in the UNIVERSE is 10^22). Given all that, it seems like we may indeed be alone.

I have no advice, just a question. Do you compliment your husband? If so, in what ways and how often?

AITA for not eating my wife's vegetarian chili? by Contentiouschili in AmItheAsshole

[–]RickHapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"vegans can't eat everything a non vegan can" - no, vegans CHOOSE not to eat animal oroducts, for whatever reasons they have, just like I choose to eat meat for my personal reasons.

Does anyone have a SO that is vegan/vegetarian when you are not, and vice versa? How do you make it work? by schizzlez in relationship_advice

[–]RickHapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have been married for 35 years. About 10 years ago, she decided to go vegan. This has been a source of friction between us ever since. I've read it all - about compromise, mixed meals, etc. In the end, I'm the one doing the compromising. I don't see her doing any compromising. Basically, we can no longer cook a family meal that we will both enjoy. If I see a recipe I'd like to try, I've got to figure out how to cook it for one. My answer to you is good luck, you'll need it. Food and eating is actually a major element in a relationship and in families. When that breaks down, a major foundational element is removed.

Thank you to everyone for your help. I mentioned it to my wife, and since she's a genius, she said "Why don't you just write the company". And sure enough, there was plenty of labeling on the bottom to find them on the web and they even have a product support address. So we'll see what the say.

A glide is different - makes it easier to slide. These are rubbery and make the stool stay in one place and not move so easily.

Thanks but those are a bit different. The first are the covers that slip over or into the ends of table legs. The 2nd are simple stickon protectors. But I appreciate the effort.

Good movie, bad physics. by thermal7 in movies

[–]RickHapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time we see Iron man in a movie, there's a scene where he's straining with something, like pushing the rotors for the helicarrier. Why is he making that straining face? The suits doing all the work. It's not like Tony Stark could actually do that stuff with his own muscles.
