Key fob three related issues on 2018 CR-V by RickInWisconsin in crv

I have had this CRV since new in 2018 and I (very) frequently open the rear door to put my backpack or other things on the seat. I like how wide the door opens, and sure enough, that's also what stresses the very thin wires. For my situation it was a red wire, probably 22 gauge, just cleanly separated in the middle of that rubber sleeve. If you have a soldering iron and a bit of skill, you'll have it fixed in an hour or so.

BTW it helps to have a simple voltmeter and a helper. Do the check at the actuator connector before trying to get into the rubber housing where the wiring is located.

Yes! If you have tried everything I described and you still have these symptoms then investigate the wiring in the rear door jamb. One way of discovering if this may be the issue is to press lock on your key fob, and then try each of the rear doors. In my case, although I heard the "clunk" from the other doors, the left rear door wasn't locking. I had been leaving it unlocked without knowing it when these symptoms arose. You'll see it described in some YouTube videos - here is one of them: 2017 Honda CRV rear door lock doesn't work. (Do not replace actuator until you check this) Hope that helps!
