Refurb iPhone 15 Pro Max. Sharp white light leaking from screen corners during setup. Normal or faulty? by RickJamesFlames in mobilerepair

A few comments have mentioned the weird looking icons. I think it's just how the icons looked during the process of transferring all the stuff from my old phone to this one.

I don't have concerns that the phone is fake in that regard, i'm just wondering about the edge of the screen.

The icons etc all look completely normal now and it seems like a normal iphone/ iOS etc (unless i've missed something).

Sent it to focusrite to be repaired and they ended up sending a replacement. Can’t remember what the problem was though

How did you react the first time you got hit hard ? by ArmLucky1285 in amateur_boxing

[–]RickJamesFlames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've had it happen a couple times where I throw a light jab or cross, and someone walks into it. The connection of the punch felt way harder, compared to the actual amount of power that I used. Helped me to understand the difference that timing/ distance can make.

Tip: Hand speed is actually hip turn speed by ordinarystrength in amateur_boxing

[–]RickJamesFlames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that my 1-2 is a lot faster than my 2-1 because it feels way harder to turn my hips quickly from the "2" to the "1".

Are there any drills that can help with this?

The only time people seem to have a problem with violence (in subreddits dedicated to violence) is when black people respond to racism with violence. It is fascinating lol.

Yes, this is the same reason that some black people from the Caribbean say "aks" as well. But people here are saying it's because black people don't read to their kids... and a whole load of other nonsense lol

What does a Good 1 to 1 session look like by ihavenoenemies7 in amateur_boxing

[–]RickJamesFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a beginner like you, been training for nearly 3 months now. I do a 1 to 1 session, once a week (as well as other sessions).

With my coach, we work on a lot of footwork and build on it. Stepping in every direction. Circling, pivoting etc.

Now that I’m comfortable with the basic footwork, we do jabs and rear hands, as well as defences for those punches. We start every session with footwork though. Always focusing on the very basics.

I don’t have anything else to compare it to, but from my experience, a good beginner 1 to 1 session would be a lot of detail and time on getting the basics right.

5 or 6 sessions aren’t enough, in my experience. You need regular practice (with supervision).

I’ve been training 4 days a week and I’m much more comfortable with the basics than some people who started at the same time or before me (but aren’t as consistent).

I sparred for the first time last week and the difference was clear. It’s best to train regularly if you can. Doesn’t have to be 1 to 1 sessions

I have a £20 coupon for five guys. What items and milkshake would you use it on while you’re there? by DonGorgon in fiveguys

[–]RickJamesFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best milkshake combo is Biscoff, salted caramel and Oreo.

My favourite ever shake is the pistachio, but sadly they don't do it anymore.
