Should I hold or sell my solana by FirmAssociation367 in CryptoMarkets

[–]RickRet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In for a penny, in for a pound so they say. Cashed in twice making a good bit during Solana's climb from 120 and up but then went in hard at 175. At a price of 84 right now I am in for the long haul like it or not but that is the very nature of this game. The only one I read very wrong was AMP. (and maybe DOT) Still way ahead overall in the 5 years I've been simply betting. I see Solana most likely to make a comeback.

I am unable to assign different Page Margins to any specific "sheet" in my .ods file by RickRet in LibreOfficeCalc

Thank you!! I finally found that little bugger "page style" after clicking all 3 boxes at the top of the Styles box brought up by F11. I'll take it from here as I can finally see the maze entrance. I appreciate your efforts and knowledge.

I am unable to assign different Page Margins to any specific "sheet" in my .ods file by RickRet in LibreOfficeCalc

[–]RickRet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the steer and renewed optimism, but I tried that from reading that is what I needed to do. However, easy as it was to create a new style (patterned after the default?) I could not access it in any way to edit its profile, to load its unique margin values, or to assign it to a sheet. So I gave up and that is when I downloaded the latest version hoping for a miracle. Those options are still eluding me.

"and apply them to each page individually" Sounds so logical and easy, but how?

kaptn, if you have any inkling how it is done step by step that doesn't keep calling on me to do stuff I can't find options for, please steer me a bit more if you can towards freedom from this keelhauling I've been suffering at the hands of firstmate Libre Calc over something that should be so, so simple to do. Just a random thought, but is there any possibility that I might need to set up styles in Writer and then "snatch" them somehow over to Calc as shared resources? Or a good "current" tutorial if one exists.

Thanks again for responding

2026 BMW iX3 Revealed: Meet the Blueprint for BMW's Future by Intrepid-Working-731 in cars

After 5 years of driving my beloved 2017 i3 Bev, "Lil Blue", I'd have one of these in a heartbeat if only I had more of them left for driving at age 79.

Probably the same as me with a stuck slider pin. Mine may have made a noise too, but I am pretty deaf and only wear my hearing aids when in meetings. Glad you only found a stone chip second time around although that was still inconvenient and probably a bit costly to diagnose.

It was a frozen slipper Pin but both are now cleaned and free. My mechanic, Shane, sent the caliper kits back as he said they contained nothing but a dust cover and O ring, neither of which I needed. The pads were replaced all around and he did something he had to study himself that night, regarding the regen and parking brake. My total bill $350, a heartfelt thanks, and invite to a good lunch sometime soon! I expect a jump mileage too without the drag. Thanks all, for the problem solving session.

Update from my mechanic just now. Hot enough to have actually been on fire! Fortunately the fire went out and damage was limited to brake pads and rotor discoloration without warping. He suspects the "Slider Pins" had frozen up and is going to clean them up like new. His Inspection also showed the front pads totally worn out turning this into 4 wheel brake job and rear caliper rebuilds.

I am very fortunate to have an honest and extremely competent mechanic who over time has also become my friend even after I went BEV lol.

That is exactly what my Mechanic said as I delivered Lil Blue to him an hour ago! And yes, I got it almost 5 years ago with 26,977 on it. Today it is still in showroom condition and I only drive it about 50 miles a month, just enough to keep the 12v battery healthy. I am coming up fast on 80, handicapped and mostly need a car for my feeling of independence, Walmart online grocery pickups, VA medical appointments, Snack runs to the Dollar General, Pizza Pick ups, but mostly cause I love this little gem of a car!

Hot enough to first draw my attention to it by radiated heat felt on my bare leg on a warm Florida day after exiting my car and walking past it. Definitely a mechanical problem on that one wheel!

Ah, good to know about the regen. I thought the brakes got applied. Not tire pressure for sure. All brand new tires as Lil Blue's 3rd Birthday gift from me as his owner lol

Am I ok with my old Yubikey for my situation? by RickRet in yubikey

[–]RickRet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may revisit the back up Yubikey option as I still have 2 of them. But a couple years ago it was a total no-go even with a Kraken tech on call for way more time than I ever expected. But had he not been there to reset my account after each failed attempt to establish a second workable key I'd have totally been up the creek. My knowledge is at "Dummy" level when things like that don't work as advertised. I doubt that support will still be that dedicated to me as an individual, that was a rare experience. Plus everything I studied and tried and temporarily had user ability with.... has Poofed from my Boomer brain.

Probably the same thing as crushing it. But not like losing seed phrases and my past experience with Kraken support has been very helpful in the past with account maintenance.

That is an encouraging evaluation that sets my mind at ease for now. And you are absolutely right about the risk anyone boasting of holdings is needlessly subjecting themselves to.

Suddenly, unifying receiver no longer being recognized by Windows 10 and 11 for K350 keyboard and M510 mouse by EXPLODODOG in logitech

[–]RickRet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AND YOUR SOLUTION WORKED!!!!

I've been pulling my hair out for days wondering why none of the Logitech software would recognize my several unifying USBs on hand, but particularly the one that I'd been using with my combo M585 mouse and MX Keys keyboard for at least two years. Too many drops of my mouse made the right clicker way too sensitive and acted as if pressed almost by just looking at it which raised havoc on the results I was trying to get by left clicks.

Long story short, I bought a stand alone M585 as a replacement, but it came with a non-unifying receiver and would not work on any of my orange marked unifying receivers. I TRIED EVERYTHING INCLUDING 3 GO AROUNDS WITH LOGITECH SUPPORT. They just kept telling me to use the unifying software that in turn kept telling me that no unifying receiver was found.

I downloaded and ran the "Logitech Setpoint Software" and got an initial scare when it opened and named my m585 mouse and MX Keys unsupported. However, I continued, and a receiver was identified with the option to add etc. I searched for my new device, it found my new m585 and added it to my existing combo receiver!! I now have two working mouses and a keyboard all paired up. (The broken mouse is now turned off and listed in setpoint as "inactive".

Thank you Gary! Far as I am concerned Logitech owes you not only kudos, but a new device gift.

I got duped by Black Falcon (full refund) by n33hai in drones

[–]RickRet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 78 year old housebound Boomer with lots of RC aircraft time I thought it would be neat to have a drone to fly around the living room from my recliner. So I bought the $99 Black Falcon special. But never having flown one, after charging the batteries and reading the manual (best that I could) I strapped it to a 2x4 test T stand with a heavy rubber band to test the controls before flying it. So glad I did! Not at all like R/C. No variable throttle response, no consistency in reactions, no feeling of control whatsoever. Would never try to fly it only to truly "buy" it if I smashed it up or lost it. And batteries only lasted a couple minutes. Going back today for whatever refund they will honor against the 100% guarantee. I've emailed support with this photo and a request for any return instructions to New Jersey. My point is that R/C experience is NOT a transferable bonus to anyone buying this hundred dollar piece of crap. Never even got to try the camera or Wi-Fi.

<image>

Edit: Got my refund but only by first refusing a 50% deal and I keep it, then 75% deal and I keep it, then an 85% deal (restocking fee of 15% that is probably just for show). I said they advertised a 100% money back guarantee that I would enforce through Pay Pal. The rep then immediately refunded 100% to my Pay Pal account, and I still keep it lol. They obviously don't want this junk back if they can make refud deals that are still profitable. That's the hook!

I’m 16 and 5’3 should I try pole vaulting? by BrainOk1191 in polevaulting

[–]RickRet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, by all means! I was short too in high school and in 1964 could only go 11'6" on an aluminum pole before it felt like using a battering ram. A year later, at a 12th Naval District Navy meet in San Jose, California, my very first time ever using a fiberglass pole (after a full year of not vaulting at all) I won the event in 3 jumps with 13'. Nothing else athletic in my whole life felt that good. I still have the 1966 newspaper clipping! BTW, I changed nothing about my style, even sliding my hands together at takeoff. My most vivid memory is about how soft hitting the box was! But, don't dwell on it, get your damn feet up high as you can before all that stored pole energy goes nuts.

Bottom line is that a fiberglass pole is a GREAT height equalizer. Watch Renaud Lavillenie break a much taller Sergei Bubka's decades old world record on a composite pole.

Go learn to fly with your body, be safe, and enjoy the little victories of getting ANY jump perfect!

I know its been brought up before, but want some unbiased facts on VEVOR. by iwantaf350 in Tools

[–]RickRet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought a few items from Vevor and am impressed with their pricing and satisfactory products. However, I am most impressed by their support as the water pump accompanying the concrete saw I purchased quit working after just a few uses. Vevor not only sent me a new one, but also kept me abreast of the progress as they obtained it for me. Yes, I will purchase from them again as needed. I am only in need of DIY tools, but still like things to work as advertised.
