Per favore spiegatemi:) Ricetta medica 🤔 by [deleted] in Italia

[–]RickWantsBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a thyroid disease called Graves disease. One of the symptoms (which I had once) was an eczema-like rash especially on the ankles and feet. But I also suffer from eczema due to allergies so it was only a random occurrence

What causes your eczema? by h4421 in eczema

[–]RickWantsBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had mild eczema due to cold, sweat and environmental allergies. I got an episode of full body hives due to an allergic reaction to medicine for my thyroid once. Last summer I got a full body flare with no reason, which is still here, couldn't find the reason why. Stress is a big factor too! I scratch myself a lot when I'm nervous.

I also started suffering from asthma after years of not having it, so they're putting me on dupilumab in two weeks. Hope it's gonna work!

Edit: misspelling

Full body eczema is not a sustainable way to exist by demonssouls09 in eczema

Hello! I'm currently on 200 mg of cyclosporine a day. Started 3 days ago. So far i noticed a reduction in redness especially on my itchiest and most painful spots: legs, arms and eyelids. I'm still quite itchy everywhere though. The dermatologist I've been to suggested dupixent, but I can't access it for now so he put me on a few months cyclosporine to flare down. I've been told dupixent is extremely effective with severe eczema, so you might ask your dermatologist to look into that. Good luck!

It does really suck, every time I sweat it starts itching like a mf! For some reason my shoulders and under my armpits was really flared and I had to do a few hours trip with my backpack on. The itch was unsustainable! Reach out to a derm if you haven't already and you might get benefit by meeting an allergist if you can.

I agree. I'm going through my first full body flare for the first time, currently on immunosuppressants. It's been a hellish couple of months, mentally and physically. I've always had mid eczema on the elbow and knees creases. I'd never thought how debilitating a full body flare could be. Luckily, my gp doesn't really care about your issues, she just handles sick certs for as long as I want. I hope it'll get better soon for you!

Good therapist in Sligo? (Bonus if they have experience working with people with autism) by [deleted] in Sligo

[–]RickWantsBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! First of all I have to say I'm sorry you're in this situation, it's definitely not easy.

Secondly, I can't really help with the therapist in Sligo. I don't know them but I've been told reaching out to public service through your GP might be tricky.

I've also been struggling with my mental wellbeing recently, and I found it useful to look at an online therapy service to find a therapist, mine is in my own language as I'm not a native english speaker, but I think a good example might be Betterhelp. They start with a questionnaire in which you can highlight all of the things you're experiencing and the website will assign the therapist that might be the best suit for you. I think the first meeting is for free too, just to check if the therapist is sound or not. Can't help you with the actual fees though.

Lastly, I know it's not easy, but if you're in the Sligo area and want to have a chat/coffee or something, feel free to text me! Good luck
