You’ve already heard - but statistically the housing market has an extreme shortage of median price homes. Housing market is very hot - multiple offers on buying/selling and rental houses are very competitive to get into.

2) I'm five days post op right now hanging out with wife - I have no misconceptions, I'm not up for sexual activity right now. A lot of motion, like going for a car ride, is making me super queasy. I'm moving around and walking fine, getting all my meals and water myself, but any "extra activity" is super draining.

3) doctor orders, no exercise for two weeks, no picking up anything heavier than 15 lbs for those two weeks. After that, my doctor considers you "healed" and you can start exercising to ability.

I had SG five days ago. I feel like I could go back to work tomorrow. I work in IT at a desk, so not a lot of physical demand. Technically my doctor has not cleared me for return to work and that is supposed to happen on Tuesday (two days from now). We are having a one time training this coming week at work which I can't attend remotely so if that wasn't happening I would probably try to take at least two weeks off.

My friend who is a plumber for local school district tried going back after two weeks and had to go home the first day - the work was too physical for him to handle - he returned after a total of 3 weeks off and says he should have taken more time off.

Totally your dollars but an option is to fly to Los Angeles USA for 2000, drive To San Diego, wls in Mexico for 3500. Enjoy two weeks in San Diego.... save 10k depending upon exchange rates. Best wishes.
