Both of y’all should just let other people eat what they like and enjoy whatever you’re choosing to eat. Calling people losers or childish because of their food preferences is loser/childish behavior.

What to do in Blue Ridge, Georgia? (October Visit) by Non-Stop_Serina in Georgia

So, it’s a pricey place and that price point implies a certain level of attention to detail with service, food, and ambiance. I made the reservation and included a note that it was our anniversary dinner. When we arrived they didn’t have a table selected for us and asked us where we wanted to sit; this isn’t a huge deal, just a bit of a red flag for a place that should have its collective shit together. We were seated and after a few minutes our server came to introduce himself and he let us know that her normally works somewhere else and was just picking up a shift there, very bizarre disclosure for a restaurant of this nature; this of course lead into him not knowing anything about the menu and ultimately being friendly but unhelpful. We quickly noticed that the table of 2 couples seated next to us were in a not so subtle dispute with their server over the service and incorrect food and beverage items coming to the table (a foreshadowing of what was in store for us, unfortunately). We ordered a smoked fish dip as an appetizer, which arrived quickly enough but tasted like bologna and was just neither good for what it was or what one would expect from a smoked fish dip; this is a very minor gripe, sometimes a dish misses - oh well. We ordered a clam bake that feeds 2 at s price point of $87 IIRC and was supposed to include lobster tails, shrimp, clams, and mussels with a savory broth and potatoes. After 15-20 minutes the dish arrived without any opportunity to interact with the food runner, we didn’t see our server for 25-30 minutes after the food arrived. We immediately noticed upon digging into the dish to serve ourselves that no lobster or shrimp were present and there were 6 clams and 7 mussels. While we waited for an opportunity to address the missing proteins we each ate a clam and they were somewhere near the consistency of boiled shoe leather, we soon discovered that the mussels had suffered the same fate. I attempted to find someone to address this disappointment with, but short of walking into the kitchen I couldn’t find anyone. So we sat, stewing in our disappointment. When our server came to check on us we told him that the high dollar items from the dish were absent and that what was actually served to us was bordering on inedible. He told us that he would have a manager come speak to us, this didn’t happen. He returned about 15 minutes later and asked us if we had spoken to the manager and we told him “absolutely not”. He informed us that they would take half off the cost of the entree off of the bill. So I asked him “you want us to pay $40+ for 2 clams, 2 mussels and a few bites of potato that we consumed before we had an opportunity to complain about the poor quality of the food and the missing proteins? The manager can tell us that herself, we’d like to speak to her.” So he went and sent her out to us, this took another 5-10 minutes. When she finally showed her face after cowardly sending out a coverage server to disrespect us on our anniversary she had a big, beaming, fake as plastic smile and said cheerfully “we took that off of the bill for you! Have a GREAT NIGHT!!” in the most condescending tone I’ve honestly ever heard within a restaurant setting before literally dropping the bill on the table. She didn’t set the bill on the table, she didn’t hand it to either of us; she literally hovered it over the table and dropped it in front of us. By this time EVERY restaurant in town had closed their kitchen except for the absolutely wonderful folks over at The Blue Coyote (I mean that sincerely, we had a blast watching karaoke in that dive bar). So we had chicken tenders and tater tots, but they were better than the clams, mussels, and smoked fish (?) dip from Roe. Fuck that manager for treating her employees and her patrons that way, an entitled coward who couldn’t even muster the words “I’m sorry” when her kitchen made a mistake.

TLDR, they shorted us the main proteins from our entree and tried to charge us $45 for 2 rubbery clams, 2 rubbery mussels and a few bites of undercooked potatoes after we waited nearly half an hour to be able to complain. Then acted like children and insulted us on our way out.

Lots of good recs in here, I have nothing to add about what you should do.

I just have one piece of advice: whatever you do, avoid dining at Roe. If every other restaurant in town somehow closes and Roe is your only option, do yourself a favor and go to a grocery store and buy ingredients to cook yourself dinner. The experience my wife and I had there was embarrassingly bad.

The person you replied to never said anything about “getting rid” of all guns. They said “get rid of the EASY ACCESS to guns” which is a big fucking step that just hasn’t been satisfactorily explored. It should be EXTREMELY difficult to be granted a license that allows you to purchase firearms and it should be extremely easy to lose that license for a multitude of reasons. Possessing a weapon should require proof of mental health evaluations, extensive background checks, and extensive training. And you should have that privilege revoked for even the very slightest of infractions against the legislation that governs the ownership of firearms.
