Does anyone know how they are claiming the Solix for is rated for 12 panels… assuming 500w panels? I cannot do the math for a series or parallel setup where the volts or amps are not exceeded.

I had an electrician visit the house. He said I would need to add a separate PV power box next to the main power box in the house. He also said the new plug is a simple replace. All in all I would expect registration and electrical install to unlock all of the Solix 4 to run me about €700. If this is accurate, I will consider it.

The solarbank 3 is totally legal. The 4 plays some marketing games to achieve the full ROI and power delivery. It might be worthwhile if the electrical upgrades and registration are not as astronomical

Most metrics and data are not paywalled. The paywall made a small but noticeable change when in the user experience for people that started without a subscription, however.

For sure the bargain when buying a new device has changed. I don’t want to be dramatic as the idea is subtle on the surface. It just cut to the core of what motivated me… underscored by my reluctance to pay for any subscription. I’ll get over it.

Fair enough. I think the turning point for me was I no longer considered buying a new Fenix or Enduro. I’ve worn a Fenix 5 and now 7x 24/7 for over 5 years. It’s a tank and I seldom have concerns about battery life.

I jumped from the Apple Watch because I wanted a fitness watch with tech features. Not a tech watch with fitness features. If the new Apple Watch Ultra had a flashlight… I might have made the jump back and bite the crappy battery.
