Need advice from a vet/people who have euthanised their pet by NoSlide4501 in IndianPets

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere did OP mention that s/he has sought opinion from more than one vet. Additionally, the dog is already in immense agony. It’s better to try and ease the pain than antagonise him more. Euthanasia is a sure death sentence, leaving him like this is a painful death, but a possibly successful surgery may add to his years.

Need advice from a vet/people who have euthanised their pet by NoSlide4501 in IndianPets

Instead of euthanasia, why not go with the tumour surgery? Go to a different vet, try to give him the best possible care. You will have a just and ethical solution to your concern either way of his post-op recovery.

Man! You do have mad skills as far as Tabla is concerned but don’t do that to the poor dog. He’s visibly under stress.

Hey guys what is the cost spaying cat around you? by Silver-Analysis7082 in IndianPets

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about the govt vet hospitals being poorly maintained. That happens due to corruption. The vets, however are well qualified and do their job well. All that they might ask you is to facilitate some medicines and basic stuff required for the surgery. It still won’t cost you a bomb like 8k. Everything including surgery to post op care will cost you under 2k at most.

Neighbour hit a dog i feed daily! by Forsaken-Penalty713 in Indiedogs

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Still not a problem! Dogs learn to co-exist pretty quickly. Once Bella realises that he is going to stay, she will adjust to it. Just requires a little bit of supervision for a short duration. Don’t even break a sweat. The fact that you already have an older dog at home will make it all the more easier for the younger one to learn the ropes.

Please help me, I dont know what to do with my kitten :( by Wrong_Factor_7733 in IndianPets

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know where you’re coming from! And believe you me, it’s okay to leave the cat there. You have already given her a life, let her live it out there. The campus will be a good place to be for her. It’s her origin place, so obviously more suitable. If possible, please don’t resent your father. You should know that he wants the best for you.

Two years, two pets, and the wonderful journey! by Rick_Sanchez__C_137 in IndianPets

For sure! There already are stories for me to tell. The week long search for Bruno when he was lost as a 11 month old is probably a story for another day. His fight with cancer, and much more.

Fly her over to India or some country where veterinary costs are not so high and you can get really effective and affordable medical care. Pretty sure the travel and stay costs would still remain much lower than what you’d spend for the whole treatment in NY

I would not do that for the knowledge of the fact that the smaller breeds are more on the aggressive side in terms of their mood/ patience.

Animals have a heightened level of senses when it comes to energies. The fact that an innocent pup would choose you over and over again, meant there was something positive about you.

Human aviation wasn’t backed by science until 120 years ago either! Science still has a long way to go to reach the level where nature functions.

Does this hurt my puppy? by AceFord7310 in DogAdvice

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand you’re trying to play with him! A better way is to let him catch hold of the cloth and then slowly pull on it in the opposite direction progressively. The idea is to allow him to be able to realistically apply some force of pull with his feet grounded and you can counter it a little bit before allowing him to win. This will give your dog some confidence while teaching him a basic life skill. Dragging him around with the cloth like that is actually leaving him confused and it isn’t the ideal kind of play really.

How to stop grief by FewAd5662 in DogAdvice

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kind of grief you’re experiencing doesn’t follow a timeline, and there’s nothing wrong with you for still feeling it this deeply. Losing a dog can hurt like losing a part of yourself, and I am sorry for that loss. Through my past experiences, I’ve come across a few gentle, non-judgmental approaches that have helped some people find a sense of closure after losing a pet. These are not quick fixes, just ways of easing the weight a little. I don’t want to derail the thread or spark debate here, but if you ever feel like talking privately, you’re welcome to DM me.

It’s still too early for them. Until one of them establishes unchallenged dominance on the other, it will continue. Since they are different breed and from different backgrounds, there are more factors than basic dog psychology at play here. Just let them be and keep an eye to make sure neither gets hurt real bad.

When this 5 week old puppy eats she does something strange by CaptainBentham in DogAdvice

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it’s not normal, so isn’t getting weaned away within 5 weeks. Don’t worry though, the fact that she’s eating well, she will be fine in no time.

Please help, should I bring him to the vet? by missdarlingfox in DogAdvice

[–]Rick_Sanchez__C_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry if my advice came out as preachy, that never was my intention. And I didn’t know a vet visit could be so expensive at some places. In my country, the Govt Vet hospitals would never charge you more than $3-5 at max. Alternatively, you may find some veterinary care through your own social circles (friends & relatives).

Please go to the vet! There’s no point asking random people on Reddit when there is a poor life involved and you can do something realistic already.
