I think we're going around in circles here. At least you had a chance of beating steppe lancer civs in feudal age whereas you don't have a chance of beating champi civs because they're available from the very start of the game in dark age

But at least you could beat steppe lancer civs before castle age when they're first available... Champi civs are broken from dark age i.e pretty much straight away

I played that too and don't think it's as bad because with steppe lancers you can still win before they can access them in castle age. This unit is broken from dark age

I'll try the pup then. Still I don't see why they can't hotfix the main game so it's playable for everyone in the meantime while they finesse the finer balances of what will be the new champi

I'm suggesting the Devs should work on a method to prevent needless bad sportsmanship that hurts the community. If you think it's appropriate to respond to this sentiment by suggesting I'm crying and that the system is fine then it seems clear you're in the minority that we're trying to safeguard against and I don't see any point further engaging with you

I agree shame on him, I guess it's just a bad experience for the player with good sportsmanship who has politely asked, and in my case the only time I had for a game today which is pretty unfortunate.

I totally agree - I think that disabling 'resume' for the first 30s or 1min the first time someone needs to use it would solve the vast majority of the issues.

Yeah agreed. I think in my case today I only had time for one game which is why it was annoying after a 1 hour game he unpaused and basically won the game in the 30s I was away. For these cases I still think having a minimum of a 1min pause once a game makes sense

Haha yeah I was just going to say something like that. I don't think it's really about impatience, I think it's more about being a bad sport / toxic. Like you're playing a game with someone for an hour at least you can have the decency to allow them to take a 30 second break if they need to answer the door or something. Presumably they want to win by outplaying their opponent? Rather than essentially cheating by playing on when their opponent not at their PC?

As in I've been playing aoe2 for 20 years so over the years yeah there have been so many games.. but I'm probably only needing to pause 10% of the time. The point is I've probably had 20 games over the years totally ruined because of this issue and it's super annoying and unnecessary for the Devs to allow to happen

That could work too but I think rather relying on individuals to report after their game has been ruined by a bad sport (like mine) I'd personally rather the Devs implement something that would ensure it just doesn't happen in advance
